Since the first cave paintings, the first fireside stories, art has been a vehicle of escape from the stressors of the world. Philip Wilkerson and Chris Russell’s newest collaboration, Imaginary Realities, was written with that escape in mind. Wrought in bright drones and glimmering flourishes, this album is a portal to another place, a reprieve from the mundane in the realm of the extraordinary. While prior collaborations Vague Traces and Dark Measures took inspiration from our world, Imaginary Realities is quintessentially dreamlike, from the opening chimes of “Liftoff” to the closing chords of the title track. “Dissipation” shimmers and warbles like polarized magnets drawing closer and then receding. “Revealing the Concealed” begins with sparse piano before blooming into a shifting nebula of harmonic textures. “Abandoning Desire” hums with contemplation, with shades of Russell’s dark ambient solo work in its vibrating drones. Gentle strums add a percussive heartbeat to the drone’s sonorous breaths, ritualistic in their rhythm. Then, the piece brightens, carried by a sun-washed texture from the caverns to the skies. Back and forth, it compresses and releases, a seamless dance between darkness and warmth: the sound of all the needs for earthly possession, one by one, held to the light and let go. The closing title track is a sonic image of aurorae, colors swimming in the night sky.

Premiered at the King's Theatre, London during May 1739, this is not a familiar Handel opera, although its music certainly will be. It is a pasticcio opera cobbled together by Handel using an existing libretto and music he plundered from the little known Francesco Araja (c1709-1770).

FKA twigs announces her highly-anticipated third studio album, 'EUSEXUA'. The album will be released on 24th January 2025 via Young Recordings. Eusexua is a state of being. A feeling of momentary transcendence often evoked by art, music, sex, and unity. Eusexua can be followed by a state of bliss and feelings of limitless possibility. Also used to refer to: 'The pinnacle of human experience'. It is united through any moment in which we are fully embodying ourselves, present in the moment, disconnected from technology, synthesized with those around us. It was moments of Eusexua that birthed 'EUSEXUA' the album, as twigs cites her late nights in the underground techno scene of Prague.

Earthling is the twenty-first studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 3 February 1997 through RCA Records in the United Kingdom, Virgin Records in the United States, and Arista Records/BMG in other territories. Developing musical styles previously explored on Outside (1995), Earthling showcases an electronica-influenced sound partly inspired by the industrial and drum and bass culture of the 1990s, further exhibiting jungle and techno styles. Lyrically, the tracks express themes of alienation and spirituality. One of them, "I'm Afraid of Americans", was remixed for release as a single by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, who appeared in its music video. The artwork depicts Bowie wearing a Union Jack coat co-designed by Alexander McQueen. Earthling charted better than its predecessor and reached the top ten in several countries.

Asphodels, the seventh studio album from The Veils, was recorded live to tape over five days at Roundhead Studios in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Veils debut album The Runaway Found turned 20 last year which provided lead singer/songwriter Finn Andrews with a healthy dose of existential dread. "I feel as though this album is the end result of a now disconcertingly long career in music," he says. "I think after your 7th album, much like turning 40, you should really just stop counting. I've learned a lot along the way, which I suppose is the whole point, and I've really distilled it all into these 9 songs. As always, I really just write about love and death - it's a compulsion - and that is once again the case here. But I feel as though I've never been able to express this stuff rattling about in my brain quite as directly until now. I have rarely felt proud of anything I've made for very long, but this one feels different. It's built on a strong foundation I think."

This is Music: The Singles 92–98 is a singles compilation album by the English alternative rock band the Verve. The compilation was released in November 2004 and included two previously unreleased tracks: "This Could Be My Moment" and "Monte Carlo". Nick McCabe did not participate in the songs, Simon Tong being the one that took the control of the lead guitar. The album was named after a track by the same name off their 1995 album A Northern Soul. The album cover is based on the cover of their 1992 single "She's a Superstar".
