Named after their 1982 hit single, the album consists of material by Dire Straits, with songs selected from the group's six studio albums (excluding the 1979 album Communiqué) from 1978 up through the group's dissolution in 1995. It also features work from the solo career of the group's singer, songwriter, and guitarist Mark Knopfler, including some of his soundtrack material. The only previously unreleased track on the album is "All the Roadrunning", a duet with country music singer Emmylou Harris.

Evans in England was issued for the first time as limited edition two-LP set on Record Store Day 2019, and 3 tracks from the album appear on Smile With Your Heart.

After nearly a decade struggling for recognition, Houston's King's X finally obtained a record deal with Megaforce Records, issuing their debut Out of the Silent Planet in 1988. The band's unique sound combines Beatles-esque vocal harmonies and melodies with heavy guitars, complex arrangements, and singer Doug Pinnick's incredible, gospel-tinged voice. After the space age intro of "In the New Age," one is swept away by the ethereal beauty of album highlights "Goldilox," and the driving "King," where the band comes closest to revealing their Christian beliefs. The drum intro and main riff of "Far, Far Away" mark another remarkable moment, but this is an astonishing record from start to finish, with further kudos going to "Wonder," "Shot of Love," and "Power of Love."

Rhino's 2001 collection, The Best of Bread, is the definitive single-disc collection of Bread's hits, spanning 20 tracks and all of the group's hits, including lesser-known hits that didn't reach the heights of "Make It with You," "Everything I Own," "If," or "Baby I'm a Want You." Though this isn't as comprehensive as Rhino's double-disc set – which means it doesn't contain the David Gates solo cuts that the first one does – it still provides most casual listeners with all the Bread they'd need, in a highly listenable fashion, too.

Made in England could as easily be the follow-up to Elton John's self-titled 1970 album as his first recording since the success of his songs for the Lion King soundtrack. John has brought back some of his old associates, including percussionist Ray Cooper, guitarist Davey Johnstone, and, particularly, orchestrator Paul Buckmaster, who gave the Elton John album its distinctive sound 25 years ago and contributes four string charts here. John remains a musical jukebox: "Please" has a twangy guitar riff that sounds like the Searchers, circa 1965, while guest organist Paul Carrack brings a soulful Booker T.-like feel to "Man."
