The Guardian called the series a "genuine act of music archaeology". Spirits Having Flown is regarded today as something of a letdown, representing the tail-end of the Bee Gees' period of greatest success, perhaps because it preceded a two-year layoff that, in turn, heralded a decline in their fortunes. At the time, however, no one heard anything less than what they expected – beautiful slow dance numbers ("Too Much Heaven," "Love You Inside Out"), achingly gorgeous romantic numbers ("Reaching Out"), soaring ballads ("Spirits (Having Flown)"), and pounding dance-rock numbers ("Tragedy"). If a few songs on the LP's second side, like "Stop (Think Again)" or "Search, Find," weren't quite up to that high standard, even the latter song displayed dazzling interwoven vocals on the choruses (which were pretty infectious) that made the trip worthwhile.

Street Life is a studio album by the American jazz band the Crusaders. It was a top 20 album on three Billboard charts and represents the peak of the band's commercial popularity. The title track, featuring singer Randy Crawford, was a Top 40 pop single (No. 36) and became the group's most successful entry on the soul chart (No. 17). It was No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. "Street Life" also hit the disco chart, peaking at No. 75, and was re-recorded by Doc Severinsen with Crawford reprising her vocal for the opening sequence of the noir crime drama Sharky's Machine, directed by Burt Reynolds in 1981. This faster-paced version was also featured in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, released in 1997.

Meeting In The Ladies Room (Expanded Edition) is a spectacularly energetic, deeply soulful, and masterfully synchronized urban pop studio masterpiece by the legendary all-female funk ensemble Klymaxx, originally released in 1984 and beautifully expanded here by the major international label MCA Records. Spanning nearly 80 minutes across 14 definitive tracks, this high-fidelity studio document stands as a vital milestone in the mid-80s electro-funk and contemporary R&B crossover movements. Under the sharp mentorship of solar-funk veteran Otis Stokes and the innovative production hands of Midnight Star's Reggie Calloway, this self-contained six-piece collective completely shattered industry barriers by writing, arranging, and tracking their own material, creating a fierce blueprint that blended heavy analog synthesizer programming with raw, street-certified dance grooves.

    FLAC (image + .cue,log) | 3:27:29 | 2.2 Gb
    Genre: Post-Disco, Dance-Pop, Blue-Eyed, Soul, Pop

Wham! followed the parallel path of most of their British pop peers, celebrating colorful, candied hooks and big, effervescent beats at a time most emerging U.K. groups were dedicated to stylish, detached synth pop. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, the childhood friends who comprised Wham!, didn't ignore fashion – their flashy visuals were tailor-made for MTV – but they shunned the arty and dour portions of new wave, building their persona on American dance music and pop, even dabbling in a bit of rap on their first single "Wham! Rap (Enjoy What You Do)." That single, along with "Young Guns (Go for It)" and "Bad Boys," broke them into the U.K. Top Ten in 1983, but it was the jubilant "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" that turned them into international superstars. Almost immediately, Michael stood apart from Ridgeley: he had the supple, soulful voice showcased on their second number one, "Careless Whisper," which was occasionally credited to Michael on his own. Wham! sustained their run at the top of the charts through 1985 but in 1986, "A Different Corner" announced Michael's separation from his longtime friend.

Genre: Pop, Synth-Pop, Disco, Cover, Medley

No Stop Hit Mix is a spectacularly energetic, highly nostalgic, and masterfully sequenced continuous dance-pop tribute album by the dynamic late-80s studio project Side Walk, released in 1989 by Pickwick Compact Discs. Spanning nearly an hour of uninterrupted, high-velocity music, this high-fidelity archive captures the absolute peak of the era's obsession with continuous megamixes and studio cover projects. The album seamlessly links 16 dancefloor anthems across generations, updating classic Motown, 70s Euro-disco, and early 80s synth-pop blocks into an interconnected matrix driven by a heavy electronic drum architecture, syncopated basslines, and bright synthesizers. The tracklist rolls forward as an unstoppable non-stop marathon, guiding listeners through massive covers of Lipps Inc.’s Funkytown, Donna Summer’s I Feel Love, The Bee Gees' Tragedy, and Evelyn Thomas's High Energy, alongside timeless staples like Y.M.C.A., Lost In Music, and What A Feeling. Exceptionally preserved in pristine lossless FLAC quality with an intact image cue sheet, verification logs, and complete artwork scans, this rare late-80s club artifact stands as an absolute mandatory cornerstone and a prized collector's holy grail for global purists of retro dance medleys, electronic easy listening pop, and classic euro-groove history.

ABBA The most commercially successful pop group of the 1970s, ABBA put Sweden on the map as a music mecca and influenced the sound of pop for decades to come. With their flamboyant fashion sense and two-couple membership, the quartet also became pop culture icons. However, it was their distinctive harmonies and intricate production (combining folk, pop, rock, and even classical) introduced on songs from their 1973 debut album, Ring Ring, that won them countless fans. It's a sound that garnered the first Swedish win at Eurovision in 1974 with "Waterloo," the title track from their second album and a song that topped the charts across Europe while reaching the U.S. Top Ten. ABBA went to number one in the States with 1976's "Dancing Queen," another worldwide smash. The hits kept coming through the early '80s, including 1978's "Take a Chance on Me" and the dramatic 1980 ballad "The Winner Takes It All." Though ABBA disbanded in 1982, they remained in the pop culture consciousness for decades to follow thanks to popular compilations, licensing, and the success of Mamma Mia!, the Tony-nominated 1999 jukebox musical that was adapted for the big screen in 2008.
