'Global superstar Ed Sheeran has announced that his new album ‘Play’ will be released on 12th September 2025. After closing the chapter on his Mathematics series, Ed Sheeran is finally back and stepping boldly into a fresh new phase for 2025. An artist known for constantly evolving, Sheeran’s latest album, 'Play' finds him exploring new musical ground through collaboration with producers and musicians from around the world, as well as diving deeper into the timeless sounds and themes that have made him one of the world’s best-loved pop artists. Inspired by his exposure to Indian and Persian musical cultures—and their surprising connections to the Irish folk tradition he grew up with, through shared scales, rhythms, and melodies—he explored this borderless musical language, giving the album its distinctive, fresh edge. On more familiar ground, Sheeran also reminds us why he remains the most influential singer-songwriter of his generation, delivering a series of stunning ballads and acoustic-driven songs. The result is a collection that plays with both the familiar and the new, creating a bold, pop-driven sound that only Ed Sheeran could deliver — a vibrant showcase of his artistry that feels both exciting and transformative, and promises to be one of the defining albums of the year.

During the rehearsals preceding the Ensouled World Tour 2024, THE THE whittled down their vast catalogue in search of the strongest set list – one that incorporated both the entire new album, Ensoulment, as well as the anticipated and much-loved songs of past decades. One song was sounding weak and nearly did not make it… but before it was dropped from the list, a final attempt at reinventing it proved to be its resurrection and reincarnation as ‘Slow Emotion Replayed’. It stayed in the set and went on tour. Matt Johnson has a penchant for covering and reinventing his own songs as with ‘This Is The Day’, ‘Infected’, ‘Armageddon Days’ and others. The original version of ‘Slow Emotion Replay’, appeared on Dusk, released in 1993. This new version, ‘Slow Emotion Replayed’ was recorded in Studio Cinéola, London, featuring Matt Johnson on Omnichord and vocals, Barrie Cadogan on electric guitar and backing vocals, James Eller on bass and Gillian Glover also providing backing vocals. The B-side of this single is entitles ‘Crow Commotion Displayed’.

Three CD set. 64-track box set of post mod grooves and heavy British R&B. Focussing on music from the late 1960s and early 1970s that avoided Tolkien-esque fantasy and flower power, instead drawing inspiration from the jazz, blues and soul music of black America. This musical journey takes the listener from the heavy Hammond organ groove of Deep Purple's US hit 'Hush' to CCS's funky 'Brother' via British blues from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack, jazz rock from Manfred Mann Chapter Three, The Johnny Almond Music Machine and Satisfaction and the soulful vocals of Stevie Winwood, Sharon Tandy and Rod Stewart. Key artists include Deep Purple, Sharon Tandy (backed by Fleur de Lys), Small Faces, Faces, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck (with Rod Stewart & Ronnie Wood), Georgie Fame, Stevie Winwood with both The Spencer Davis Group and Traffic, Mighty Baby, Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity, Blodwyn Pig and Graham Bond. Many musicians here had been through the British R&B and soul scenes including Satisfaction's Derek Griffiths and Deep Purple's Jon Lord and Keef Hartley with The Artwoods, Jeff Beck with The Yardbirds and Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and Rod Stewart with Steampacket while Mighty Baby had evolved from The Action and Spooky Tooth from The V.I.P.s.

For harmonia mundi, he has chosen to explore a repertoire that he knows inside out, the music of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Russia. Here is a chance to hear an expert interpretation of the famous Capriccio espagnol alongside works by Tchaikovsky and Tcherepnin, perhaps less well-known but utterly thrilling!

The album centers around a never-before-released rendition of "Silentium," the second movement of Pärt's most famous concerto, Tabula Rasa, performed by Boston-based chamber orchestra A Far Cry. The group plays "Silentium" at nearly half the speed of the best-known version, released on ECM in 1984. The piece, known for its healing properties for the dying and often used in palliative care facilities (one patient famously called it "angel music"), is breathtaking at half speed, seemingly stilling time itself.

The idea of putting together songs like impressions of a feeling rather than a collection of recordings from a certain decade or style or genre was at the heart of a discussion I had with Norman in 2019. It was a warm July day on the Riviera. I had just finished putting together the sound system for our first and only festival. “It should paint a picture”… We began a work of compiling. Norm would send tracks and we would try to situate them on the spectrum of a large “carte postale” encompassing in one corner the kitsch resort balneaire, in the other the sail boat in a Caribbean creek, with sandy beaches and glimmering waves in between. With the certainty that the French only seem to possess in matters of taste (my wife Emma is the same), Norm would go: “ah ca c’est 100% Blue Wave” or not at all.

When Joe Pass recorded and released this first of his Virtuoso series of albums, he was 44 years old, and ready to reclaim his crown as king of jazz guitar after years of heroin abuse. As a solo artist playing only acoustic guitar in an amplified fusion era, the odds were stacked against him, but Pass boldly issued this, his most creative and improvisation-based work, to mass critical acclaim and widespread general public sales. The genius of Pass was that he was easily able to retain melodic lines of these standards while adding stretched-out, extrapolated thoughts on the top and bottom of the melodies. On every track, with each passing phrase, modified and extended line or poetic thought, Pass proves his unique style is better than all the rest…

September grew out of the short-lived super-group project Jugoslovenska Pop Selekcija in September 1975, whose members included Tihomir Pop Asanovic-organ, Janez Boncina-vocals, guitar, Braco Doblekar-percussion, congas and Ratko Divjak- drums. Charley Novak on bass and formally educated musician Pero Ugrin on electric violin and trumpet joined soon for the recording of the first album, ironically titled "Zadnja avantura" (Eng. "The Last Adventure"). The album was recorded in February 1976 in Ljubljana and released shortly afterwards but passed largely unnoticed. This is in fact a pure gem of Yugoslavian jazz fusion that lacked popularity simply because there was no single hit song on it that would draw attention of the wider public. That said, this album is probably the first complete fusion release in ex- Yugoslavia that did not rely on the blues/R'n'B fundament, going instead further into free jazz exploration in a vein of Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return To Forever…
