This 20-track compilation contains everything from their 1964 self-titled LP, as well as both sides of their three 1964 singles and a cover of Ray Davies' "I Go to Sleep" (found on a 1965 single). Its quaintness and lack of strong tunes (only one of which was a group original) limit its worth to British Invasion obsessives for the most part, with some value for Beatles completists due to the hit cover of "Like Dreamers Do." "No Time," one of several songs co-written by future Honeybus main man Pete Dello, is about the best song, with its moody melody; at their most energetic (as on "See If She Cares") they sound a bit like Gerry & the Pacemakers. The covers of '50s rock classics are dire, but the reading of Davies' "I Go to Sleep," with its eerie organ and high yelping backup vocals, has some curiosity value as the first cover of this song, which the Kinks did not release in the 1960s.

Gene Harris (born Eugene Haire, September 1, 1933 - January 16, 2000) was an American jazz pianist known for his warm sound and blues and gospel infused style that is often referred to as soul jazz. • This dynamic boxed set includes all eight of these early albums by The Three Sounds, and includes such classic records as Introducing The 3 Sounds (Blue Note, 1958), Bottoms Up (Blue Note, 1959) Moods (Blue Note, 1960), Feelin’ Good (Blue Note, 1961) and Hey There (Blue Note, 1962). • Despite the group continuing as a trio until 1973, they initially left Blue Note in 1963, and despite re-signing with the label in 1967, their first tenure with the label is generally considered the group’s golden years. There were of course many moments of glory still to come on labels such as Verve, Limelight, Mercury and of course during their second tenure with Blue Note. But for both newcomers to Gene Harris and The Three Notes, as well as those ready versed but in need of a delightful reminder of this trio’s majestic sound, fans need go no further than this 4 CD Collection which displays perfectly the Three Sounds at their very finest.

Included are the complete studio albums Sophisticated Swing, Cannonball Enroute and Cannonball’s Sharpshooters (with the sole omission of “Stella by Starlight”, a trio track from the first album –piano, bass and drums only-, which we were forced to omit due to time limitations). The live section presents a rare 1956 TV show soundtrack appearing here on CD for the first time ever, plus an astonishing 1957 concert performance at the Newport Jazz Festival

Rhino closes its five-volume rock instrumentals series with an 18-track outing devoted to surf guitar. This fast-paced, prickly, and frequently exciting form may not be among the most diversified structurally, but if does offer some surging playing from its practitioners. They range from founding father Dick Dale to its most popular bands, the Surfaris, Belairs, Ventures, and Chantays. While not particularly a hardcore surf collection, this disc certainly outlines its virtues, and the tunes were long enough to display guitar proficiency, but short enough to prevent self-indulgence and repetition.

This six-CD box set, released to celebrate the 80th birthday of Norwegian jazz singer Karin Krog is intriguing. It is not a straightforward chronological retrospective, nor a greatest hits collection – she has released anthologies of her work before now, most recently in 2015’s Don’t Just Sing. For this new collection she has selected favourite recordings from the last 60 years – to the Krog connoisseur this will be an fascinating compilation, as it contains rarities and previously unreleased tracks. For the newcomer it provides evidence of the incredible variety within Krog’s work in the last 60 or so years of her jazz career.

2023 will see Billy Bragg and Cooking Vinyl celebrating forty years of music from the singer, songwriter, activist and author, with a selection of releases to appeal to casual admirers and die hard fans alike. The career spanning 14 CD box set, contains more than 300 tracks including highlights from each of Billy’s twelve studio albums, non-album singles and B- Sides, session tracks, rare live recordings, collaborations and previously unreleased material from across his career.

Older is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter George Michael, released on 13 May 1996 in Europe by Virgin Records and Aegean Records one day later in the United States. The American release was the first album released by DreamWorks Records. It was Michael's first studio album since 1990's Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 – the five-and-a-half-year gap was due to the legal battle that Michael experienced with his former record company Sony Music. Michael dedicated three years to the recording of Older, and the album found him exploring new musical territories in a more serious fashion compared to his previous work. At the time of release, the album was a huge commercial hit, particularly in Europe, but was received in America with lukewarm commercial approval. In the UK, the album was particularly notable for producing a record six top three hit singles in a two-year span.

Dream Police is the fourth studio album by American rock band Cheap Trick. It was released in 1979, and was their third release in a row produced by Tom Werman. It is the band's most commercially successful studio album, going to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and being certified platinum within a few months of its release. Dream Police shows the band expanding into longer, more complex songs and incorporating orchestration on several tracks. The album's title track became a Top 30 hit for the band. "Voices" was also a hit for the band, reaching No. 32 on the Billboard chart. "Voices" has been used twice in the soundtrack of the American sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

In 1976, one year after the band was founded, Motörhead's groundbreaking line-up was established. The “Three Amigos” era of Motörhead - Lemmy (bass/vocals), Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar) and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor - joined forces and began their extraordinary journey to the top of the hard rock elite. In August 1976, the band met at Emerson, Lake & Palmer's legendary Manticore Studio in Fulham to rehearse and unveil the new line-up.
