Triumvirat released a number of excellent albums over their rein with "Pompeii" being regarded as one of the classics by this music lover. This was to be on "Pompeii" a re-shaped band with new members and a new fresh sound both which they achieved. Biggest change from their early lineup is the addition of English lead vocalist Barry Palmer who has a purely magical voice. This was a mega project for lead member Jurgen Fritz who not only plays his vast array of keyboards (Steinway grand, Hammond C3, Organ, Moog, Polyphonic synths, Arp string ensemble, fender rhodes, clavinet) but also added some heavy choir and string arrangements. In fact the orchestral parts were recorded by Conny Plank as was on the album as well.

Classic Britpop is strikingly relevant again in 2025, with Pulp touring off a revitalizing record, the echo of Blur's last one still ringing in the background, and Oasis-mania spreading like contagion. The fourth big tentpole group, Suede, may have never had the sweep of the others in America, but their fandom has a deep, deep devotion—and it's sure to be energized by the band's 10th album. Antidepressants arrives 32 years after their first and sounds brash and muscular.

Enam was born in 1975. His mother inspired him musically at an early age with her singing in a choir and her playing the accordion, organ and guitar. Enam started experimenting with these instruments and the two sang harmonies together. After an orientation in various musical styles he happened upon African music and started playing djembe. An interest in ethnic as well as ethereal music grew. Enam started composing at the age of 21 after he purchased his first synth. More and more instrumental and vocal possibilities came about. His compositions contain combinations of pronounced sounds evoking a special atmosphere. A magical experience suitable for relaxation, meditation and other healing arts.

Mycology: An Anthology collects highlights from the Allman Brothers' '90s work for Epic Records. Although these latter-day recordings didn't quite reach the heights of the group's '70s heyday, they were surprisingly strong and Mycology is the best way for the curious fan to discover that. By rounding up the best moments from Seven Turns, Shades of Two Worlds, An Evening with the Allman Brothers Band and Where It All Begins, the collection offers a good distillation of an underrated portion of the group's career, thereby making it of equal interest to casual and hardcore fans alike.

SUPERB 1976 PERFORMANCE FROM COHEN WHILE ON HIS NEW SKINS TOUR This magisterial concert by the inimitable Canadian singer-songwriter and poet, Leonard Cohen, was broadcast live from Montreux, Switzerland, towards the end of his 55-date European tour of 1976. By this stage in his career, the 41-year old Cohen had released four studio albums, debuting with the outstanding Songs Of Leonard Cohen for CBS Records in 1967. Six of that superb record s best songs are presented this evening: Hey, That s No Way to Say Goodbye, One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong, Sisters Of Mercy, The Stranger Song and So Long, Marianne. The latter, in particular, is a spell-binding performance, a gorgeous homage to Cohen s lover and muse Marianne Ihlen (1935-2016), and a song which many fans consider was given its most entrancing performance at this very show. Cohen s 1969 sophomore album, the stark Songs From A Room , supplies seven songs to the set, including the classic and probably best known cut from the entire Cohen canon, Bird On The Wire, which is also given the singular honour of being performed twice, and is accompanied by You Know Who I Am, The Partisan (Cohen s moving adaptation of the wartime French resistance anthem Le Chant Des Partisans), the bleak Story Of Isaac, The Butcher, Lady Midnight and Tonight Will Be Fine.

With Acrobat’s catalogue having grown substantially, and its product strategy evolved significantly over the years, we are occasionally looking to repurpose some of our early albums in the context of the product formats that are now more widely used in our releases. This 70-track 3-CD set comprises the complete contents, plus some added titles, of three products released in our ACRCD range more than fifteen years ago, and which offered the opportunity to assemble a nicely coherent, substantial and enhanced single product at a lower price than the three single CDs combined. Those CDs were ACRCD 117, 118 & 119 “Bebop Vols. 1, 2 & 3”. The titles on those three CDs have now been re-compiled in chronological order, with duplicated titles removed and twelve new titles added, along with a substantial booklet. The collection comprises recordings which are seen as significant performances in the genesis and development of bebop as a genre, or regarded as important or notable examples of bebop. The tracks have also been selected so that a significant proportion of the artists regarded as pioneers, innovators or noted exponents of bebop are represented in the collection. On that basis, it features a host of great names not only in bebop but in the wider world of jazz, and the collection offers a highly entertaining an insightful trawl across a dynamic jazz decade.

The Rattles performed in Hamburg, and played at the same venues as The Beatles on several occasions in 1962. In 1964 the group recorded "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", which charted in the UK. In 1968 they recorded their first version of "The Witch", with vocals by Henner Hoier. The band's records sold well in Germany during the 1960s. Their second version of "The Witch" in 1970, this time with vocals by Edna Bejarano, became their only international hit. "The Witch" appeared in the Top 10 on the UK Singles Chart, the top 20 in Austria, and reached the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S., the first German record to reach that chart. It eventually sold over one million copies.

AThe title says it all - The Old School adheres to postwar Chicago blues, with a couple of Delta or New Orleans tracks thrown in for good measure. To his credit, Bob Margolin does delve deep into the catalogs of Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, and Percy Mayfield, among others, digging out songs that haven't been covered as frequently as others. His originals - which are in the style of his idols, naturally - can't help but pale next to the classics he's chosen, but they are competent genre exercises. Margolin, on the whole, isn't a particularly remarkable player - he doesn't have a gripping voice or a distinctive slide guitar technique - but he is passionate about this music, and it shows. And that means The Old School is entertaining while it's on, but it doesn't leave much of a lasting impression.

Dylan made his way to New York City in January of 1961, immediately making a substantial impression on the folk community of Greenwich Village. He began visiting his idol Guthrie in the hospital, where he was slowly dying from Huntington's chorea. Dylan also began performing in coffee houses, and his rough charisma won him a significant following. In April, he opened for John Lee Hooker at Gerde's Folk City. Five months later, Dylan performed another concert at the venue, which was reviewed positively by Robert Shelton in The New York Times. Columbia A&R man John Hammond sought Dylan out on the strength of the review, and signed the songwriter in the fall of 1961.

Is it really 50 years since I first heard the Safe As Milk album? Well, yes it is and I still play it regularly. It still sounds fresh and exciting although probably not quite as ‘weird’ as it originally sounded to me all that time ago. Hey, Beefheart soon got much weirder but Safe As Milk is still one hell of a debut album. Not only was it a debut album but it was the first release on a brand new label, Buddah, set up by Kama Sutra Records. They must have had some faith in the band back then. It’s a pity the Mt Tamalpais show ended in disaster and the proposed Monterey appearance didn’t happen. Those shows could have made the band’s career and would probably have repaid Kama Sutra in spades, and maybe, just maybe made some money for Don and the Magic Band. Perhaps that did happen in a parallel universe somewhere and Don went on to become a superstar headlining stadium shows around the world. Hmmm, but I have to wonder whether that would have been a good thing or not?

The set opens with beloved outtake "I Wanna Be With You" and features more Tracks rarities ("Loose End," "Stand On It), a summer-season outing for "Sherry Darling," powerful performances of "Murder Incorporated," "Youngstown" and "Jungleland," plus "Freehold," Springsteen's hilariously candid confessional about growing up in New Jersey.
