For part of Air's Pocket Symphony tour, Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin played shows with only drummer Joey Waronker as support, forcing the band to strip its songs down to their essences. They stick with that lineup on Love 2, which delivers some of the most Air-like music to the band's name, and with good reason: this is the first time Dunckel and Godin have produced their own album. The duo tends to follow its more ambitious work with more accessible material and Love 2 is no exception, replacing Pocket Symphony's exotic, experimental bent with a renewed emphasis on the pair's quintessential sound. Every Video Without Your Face, Every Sound Without Your Name is an album I wanted to make since college. I began most of these songs when I was 19 in my dorm room, but I struggled to finish them. I didn’t feel skilled enough as a songwriter and a producer. Finishing this music now, almost 6-7 years later, has been interesting. It is nice to know that there are ideas here that I can still stand by. But the differences in my emotional state, then and now, made this process more difficult than I expected.

"Along with Barren Cross, Stryper, and Resurrection Band, the Seattle-based Bloodgood (formed in 1985) pioneered the sounds of Christian hard rock with a commercial success that bands like Jerusalem and Barnabas had only hinted at achieving. Bloodgood had the look and the sound - dressing in spandex and churning out loud, heavy metal music on the order of Twisted Sister, Ratt, and Quiet Riot. On Detonation, the band takes a heavier, more aggressive approach. This is straightforward traditional heavy metal at it's finest. In addition, Detonation finds Bloodgood coming into it's own as songwriters, delivering some of the most exquisite compositions of it's career, many which remain concert staples to this day.

Fishmans made their major debut in 1991 during the band boom era as the first artist signed to "Virgin Japan". As a rock band influenced by reggae, rocksteady, and dub, they left behind numerous iconic songs. Among them, "Ikareta Baby" has become an anthem covered by countless artists, known and unknown, not only within the lovers' rock scene but also beyond. Though their activity ceased in 1999 following the passing of vocalist Shinji Sato, the band resumed performances in 2005 at the RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL, with drummer Kin-ichi Motegi taking on main vocal duties, alongside guest vocalists for occasional live events. This box set chronicles the band’s journey through sound. Under the direction of Kin-ichi Motegi, rare recordings from their early days, radio performances, unreleased live tracks, and demo tapes were meticulously archived over two years, digitized from cassette tapes, DATs, and multitrack tapes. In early 1961, a 19 year old Bob Dylan, having dropped out of college at the end of his freshman year, travelled to New York City, ostensibly to visit his idol Woody Guthrie, hospitalised with Huntingdon's Disease. He headed straight for Greenwich Village, by then the epicentre of the folk music revival that Dylan was hoping to become a part of. In his recent autobiography Chronicles he writes; 'Greenwich was full of full of folk clubs and bars and those of us who played them all played the old timey folk songs, rural blues and dance tunes'.

DYNAMIC BROADCAST RECORDING FROM TRAFFIC IN 1972 Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason, and Chris Wood met at a club in Aston, Birmingham in the mid-1960s. At the time Winwood was performing with The Spencer Davis Group, but when he quit in April 1967, the quartet formed Traffic. Traffic signed to Chris Blackwell's Island Records, and their debut single Paper Sun became a UK hit in the summer of 1967. Further hit singles followed and their debut album, Mr. Fantasy, was successful in the UK. Mason left the group by the time Mr. Fantasy was released, but re-joined for a few months in 1968, long enough to contribute to their second, eponymous album. The band however was discontinued following Winwood's departure in early 69. He then formed the supergroup Blind Faith, which lasted less than a year, recording one album and undertaking one US tour.

RARE RADIO & TV SESSIONS FROM CAT STEVENS FROM 1970 & 1971 Born Steven Georgiou on 21 July 1948 in London, the man who became world famous as Cat Stevens was the youngest child of a Greek Cypriot father and a Swedish mother. At age 15, inspired by the popularity of the Beatles, the young aspirant became interested in playing guitar. He soon discovered he had some talent as a songwriter, after listening to songs and albums by Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, blues artists Lead Belly and Muddy Waters, Biff Rose Leo Kottke and Paul Simon. He also sought to emulate composers of musicals, like Ira Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. In 1965 he signed a publishing deal with Ardmore & Beechwood and recorded several demos, including The First Cut Is the Deepest . In 1966, at age 18, he was heard by manager/producer Mike Hurst, who arranged for him to record a demo and helped him get a record deal. Stevens' first few singles were hits: I Love My Dog reached number 28 on the UK Chart, and Matthew and Son , the title song from his debut album, and rose to number 2.

Young had released the least popular and poorly received albums of his career in the years prior to this performance, lastly the rockabilly infused Everybody s Rockin - an album which clocked in at a mere 29 mins - and before that the synth pop infused Trans. But for his ACL show Young had a hell of a band backing him in The International Harvesters. This group of Nashville cats may not have blown down arena doors with the same ferocity as Crazy Horse, but as this 1984 concert proves, they could more than hold their own with Neil Young, even on an extended version of concert favourite, the rocker Down By The River.
