Mott The Hoople were one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK in the early 1970s. Everyone from Oasis to REM, Queen and The Clash have cited Mott as a major influence on their music. Unfortunately, very little evidence has been made available of the band’s live prowess, save for the all too brief live album recorded and released shortly before they broke up at the end of 1974. While their live performances had drawn renown, they failed to translate into record sales, and their first four albums for Island Records sold poorly. Before the switch to CBS and a game changing collaboration with David Bowie, Ian Hunter and the boys were near rock bottom. Would Mott The Hoople survive? London Calling returns to their November 29th 1972 performance, on stage at the Tower Theater, Upper Darby, Philadelphia to find out - as we present; All The Young Dudes LIVE!!!! Beautifully restored and professionally remastered original WIOQ-FM radio broadcast.
