Catharina "Nina" Hagen is a German singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her theatrical vocals and rose to prominence during the punk and new wave movements in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1982, Hagen signed a new contract with CBS and released her debut solo album NunSexMonkRock, which became her first record to chart in the United States. NunSexMonkRock marked Hagen's first release since her departure from the Nina Hagen Band, and was also her first album with all songs performed in English. Upon its release, NunSexMonkRock received mixed reviews from music critics. While some praised Hagen's theatrical vocals, others criticized its experimental production. Rolling Stone called it the "most unlistenable" album ever made.

Graham Bonnet is a hard rock legend with the pedigree to back that statement up. His stints with Rainbow, MSG, Alcatrazz, and Impellitteri prove he is one of the finest rock vocalists of his generation. This new studio album offers 11 new songs where Bonnet lays down his inimitable vocals over a selection of tunes full of great hooks and melodies. This album was originally released in 1988 as "Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry, Be Happy". Vocal virtuoso Bobby McFerrin ranks among the most distinctive and original singers in contemporary music – equally adept in jazz, pop, and classical settings, his octave-jumping trademark style, with its rhythmic inhalations and stop-on-a-dime shifts from falsetto to deep bass notes often sounds like the work of at least two or three singers at once, while at the same time sounding quite unlike anyone else.

Wisely going only by her first name, Polish-by-way-of-England pop singer Basia Trzetrzelewska ("pronounced Basha Tshetshelevska"), joined by her musical partner Danny White, steps out of the band Matt Bianco to launch her solo career with Time and Tide. She and White create a series of keyboard-based dance-pop arrangements to support her smooth alto. This is sophisticated pop music that sounds ideal for playing in any number of upholstered locations – a black-tie cocktail party, a fashion-show runway, the back seat of a limousine.

The music of Beethoven and his unfairly neglected contemporaries forms an important focus in the explorations of the faraway sound of the romantic era by the five instrumentalists of the Ardinghello Ensemble. Led by flautist Karl Kaiser, the ensemble presents the recording premiere of Andreas Romberg’s flute quintets – most highly individual compositions full of surprises on the threshold of romanticism.

Gottlieb Muffat ( 1690-1770) came from a large family of nine children which was not unusual for the time when infantile mortality rate was high. His father Georg Muffat was a composer himself and a Kappellmeister who also served as an organist at the court of the Bishop of Passau. Four of his children were to become musicians including our composer Gottlieb who settled down in Vienna after his father's death.

Steven Feifke (pianist, composer, arranger/orchestrator and conductor) and Bijon Watson (lead trumpet) have joined forces to bring together a big band featuring some of the most well known names in all of jazz. These two artists are "frequent-flyer-mile" performers in a number of internationally acclaimed large ensembles and noticed one small problem in each one: there is almost no generation gap! The longstanding tradition spearheaded by artists like Art Blakey and Horace Silver of hiring the "young guns" for an ensemble has all but disappeared in recent years. In creating "The Generation Gap Jazz Orchestra," Bijon and Steven make the objective of this band to strengthen that tradition of mentorship that has shaped and defined the jazz idiom since its earliest beginnings.

ATMA Classique is delighted to present Anguille sous roche (Something fishy!), the first recording by the latest incarnation of renowned viol duo Les Voix humaines. The new pairing consists of Mélisande Corriveau, who succeeds the duo’s co-founder Margaret Little, and Susie Napper. Corriveau and Napper have performed together for two decades as members of Les Voix humaines Consort. Both play on historic viols by London luthier, Barak Norman.
