Steve Harley's iconic album The Best Years Of Our Lives celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025 and to mark the event, Chrysalis Records is proud to present an expanded 3-Disc edition featuring a 2025 Stereo Mix by Alan Parsons and a single LP Version. Following the split of the original Cockney Rebel line up, Harley endeavoured to form a new line up while renaming the group as Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. The result of this newfound group was electric, with the band producing their biggest hit; the number one, million-selling anthem 'Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)'. The lead track has gone on to have a life of its own, produced by Alan Parsons, just two years after he engineered Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, this album stands tall as an assured collection of top tier prog-glam-pop.

Weather Report's fourth recording finds Wayne Shorter (on soprano and tenor) taking a lesser role as Joe Zawinul begins to really dominate the group's sound. Most selections also include bassist Alphonso Johnson and drummer Ishmael Wilburn although the personnel shifts from track to track. "Nubian Sundance" adds several vocalists while "Blackthorn Rose" is a Shorter-Zawinul duet. Overall the music is pretty stimulating and sometimes adventurous; high-quality fusion from 1974.

As part of a planned year-long celebration of The Beach Boys’ 60th anniversary, Capitol Records/UMG are to release a newly remastered and massively expanded edition of the group’s greatest hits collection Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys.This collection was originally issued in 2003 and contained 30 tracks. The reissue updates both the number of songs and the audio quality with an extra 50 songs, giving a total of 80 tracks across three CDs or six vinyl LPs.

This recording would be ideal for one with the intent of studying the scores, as it is a rather exact and unbiased read, quite true to Schubert's intended style. The pharsing, choice of tempi and degree of precision are examplary for a work of the era.

'Take A Pebble' from their debut album ran for twelve and a half minutes, whilst the follow-up, 'Tarkus', featured a twenty-minute title track. Piano and keyboard workouts by Keith Emerson, often adapted from the classical realm, dazzle on these longer pieces. Their UK #2 hit single 'Fanfare For The Common Man' was inspired by an Aaron Copland work. Bassist Greg Lake would contribute shorter tracks, often ballads, that would become known via radio play: US hit 'Lucky Man', 'From The Beginning' and a single that is familiar to all, 'I Believe In Father Christmas'.

Retaining the buoyant musical feel of Paul Simon, but employing a more produced sound, There Goes Rhymin' Simon found Paul Simon writing and performing with assurance and venturing into soulful and R&B-oriented music. Simon returned to the kind of vocal pyrotechnics heard on the Simon & Garfunkel records by using gospel singers. On "Love Me Like a Rock" and "Tenderness" (which sounded as though it could have been written to Art Garfunkel), the Dixie Hummingbirds sang prominent backup vocals, and on "Take Me to the Mardi Gras," Reverend Claude Jeter contributed a falsetto part that Garfunkel could have handled, though not as warmly.

All recordings have been re-mastered by renowned engineer Andy Pearce. This collection has been curated with the blessing of the Emerson, Lake and Powell families. If you are a fan of ELP, you cannot afford to have this part of the Emerson and Lake history missing from your collection.

Pages was an American pop rock band active during the late 1970s and the early 1980s. Richard Page and Steve George had been working together for years in and around Southern California and had done sessions, backing vocals, written songs, for such as Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, Patti LaBelle, Rick Springfield, The Pointer Sisters, Donna Summer etc. Before the well knowed Mr. Mister, they recorded 3 albums for Epic and Capitol Records under the name Pages. The band consisted of Richard Page and Steve George on vocals and keyboards supported by various studio musicians, some of whom from time to time were considered part of the band.
