One of the first female rockabilly singers, Wanda achieved enormous success in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a pioneering rock and roll artist, earning her the title of Queen (or First Lady) of Rockabilly in the eyes of many.

The Grand Scheme of Things is a 1993 solo album by Yes guitarist Steve Howe. The album features seven vocal tracks and nine instrumental tracks using instruments including dobro, steel guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, keyboards, organ, Spanish guitar and anvil. The album reached No. 15 in the Billboard Top New Age Albums charts. Steve Howe is an English musician, songwriter and producer, best known as the guitarist in the progressive rock band Yes across three stints since 1970. Howe helped to change the band's musical direction, leading to more commercial and critical success. Many of their best-known songs were co-written by Howe, who remained with the band until they briefly disbanded in 1981. Howe returned to the group in 1990 for two years and has remained a full-time member since 1995.

The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist also known as Joshua Karpeh hits a galvanizing stride that unfolds hour-by-hour on his newest project, The Hours: Morning, a conceptual endeavor that’s equal parts mixtape and emotive timetable. Facing daybreak with a certain pop precision that he’s honed over the past decade, it’s a project that further illuminates Karpeh as an artist whose strength lies in his dexterity.

Words from Gruff Rhys on American Interior (2025 Remastered Bonus Edition) Revisiting American Interior 11 years later, feels very prescient. In following the unusual story of explorer John Evans (1770-1799), it becomes clear that faked narratives can have profound and unpredictable consequences in real life. His barely believable journey of verification in searching through continental scale wilderness for a [fictitious] Welsh speaking tribe believed to be living on the Great Plains of North America (an ancient folk tale perpetuated by the Elizabethan court following the subjugation of Wales, to make colonial claims on behalf of the British on the Americas) had a dramatic political effect on the fledgling USA and a devastating impact on himself and some of those who helped him on his way. I wrote an album of songs inspired by his life; American Interior, which also served as a soundtrack to a documentary film based on a book that detailed his journey, intertwined with my own investigative concert tour, all three of which I worked on simultaneously. It took me a while to process the whole experience and its lessons and feel I owe it to my former self to take these songs back on the road for a couple of months and re-tell the story for a new decade.

The self-titled album by the short-lived outfit Affinity displays a lot of potential, which if not wholly successful has an individuality separating them from their more jazzy and progressive peers. If Linda Hoyle's talent for fusing the vocal traits of Bessie Smith, Grace Slick, and Sandy Denny together semi-successfully is the defining point, then Lynton Naiff's pounding Hammond workouts fall somewhere between the exceptional and the overdone. With the addition of John Paul Jones' fine brass arrangements, which are to the fore throughout, a very soulful feel reminiscent of the latter work of Brian Auger, Julie Driscoll & the Trinity is created. And the album's variety of moods sustains interest throughout. "Coconut Grove" (the Lovin' Spoonful song) is given a similar slow treatment to Donovan's diversions into jazz on Sunshine Superman, notably "The Observation," while a heavier element is supplied by a few heavy Hammond numbers…

'I'm the Problem' is the fourth studio album by American country music singer Morgan Wallen. Wallen spent nearly a year writing and honing the tracklist on a farm outside of Nashville with his crew of collaborators that includes producers Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome, boiling down the sessions into a collection that combines 'Wallen's country, cross and dirt-rock influences' while also taking inventory of 'where he's been and where he's headed - and not shying away from the past'.

The newest release from SOMM Recordings is an unusual but exciting pairing of two string quartets by British and French contemporaries Sir Edward Elgar (1857–1934) and Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924). Also included is a collection of shorter gems transcribed for string quartet by the British composer, arranger, and pianist Iain Farrington. These comprise Elgar’s Carissima (originally composed for small orchestra) and selections from Fauré’s Piano Preludes: Nos. 4, 8, and 9, this last described by Aaron Copland as being “so absolutely simple that we can never hope to understand how it can contain such great emotional power.”
