Fifty years after their early beginnings and after so many important individual experiences, those 18-year-olds are still together today: to play their "old stuff" again, but also to interpret and produce their "new stuff." The group then reconstituted itself with the addition of two great musicians of the caliber of Claudio Cesar Corvini and Roberto Rocchetti to record these new unreleased songs in the 50th year since their debut; thus was born this new album…SPIRALE 50th!

Bassist and composer Antoine Fafard's Quadra Spherium (2025) offers a boundary-pushing instrumental Jazz Fusion experience. Featuring Antoine alongside legendary drummer Gary Husband and masterful tenor saxophonist Jean-Pierre Zanella, the album combines intricate rhythms, rich harmonies and fearless improvisation.

From Mozart to Tchaikovsky, this collection is a compendium of Itzhak Perlman’s chamber music artistry. Here he is accompanied by great musicians such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ray Still and Pinchas Zukerman.

The Symphony in D minor is the best-known orchestral work and the only mature symphony written by the 19th-century composer César Franck. It employs a cyclic form, with important themes recurring in all three movements.

Antonio Vivaldi was a great violinist, as was his father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi. It is no coincidence that Antonio Vivaldi’s first publication op. 1 in 1705 was a collection of sonatas for two violins and basso continuo. He dedicated most of his instrumental output to the violin, writing sonatas for one or two violins and concerti for up to four solo violins further writing compositions where the violin appears as a second main character alongside other instruments or voice.

Star-violinist Christian Tetzlaff, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor John Storgårds present Elgar's passionate violin concerto, completed in 1910. This huge and highly emotional work was in the wake of modernism neglected for several decades before entering into standard concerto repertoire. Here Christian Tetzlaff follows the model of the early recordings of Elgar’s concerto with substantially quicker tempos compared to most modern recordings, and having a great influence on the impact of the piece.

This is the excellent, 2025, fifth release by this long running (founded in 1999) Chilean avant-progressive leaning band who are best known for their one release on the AltrOck label. This one sort of straddles the boundary between avant-progressive sounds that they are mostly known for and a more ‘fusion/symphonic’ approach, in line with Happy The Man or French TV 15.

Abandoning the lovely soundscapes of Snow Goose, Camel delved into layered guitar and synthesizers similar to those of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here on the impressive Moonmadness. Part of the reason behind the shift in musical direction was the label's insistence that Camel venture into more commercial territory after the experimental Snow Goose, and it is true that the music on Moonmadness is more akin to traditional English progressive rock, even though it does occasionally dip into jazz-fusion territory with syncopated rhythms and shimmering keyboards.
