Band on the Run was a commercial success, but even if it was billed as a Wings effort, it was primarily recorded by Paul, Linda, and Denny Laine. So, it was time to once again turn Wings into a genuine band, adding Joe English and Jimmy McCulloch to the lineup and even letting the latter contribute a song. This faux-democracy isn't what signals that this is a band effort - it's the attitude, construction, and pacing, which McCartney acknowledges as much, opening with an acoustic title track that's a salute to arena rock, leading to a genuine arena rock anthem, "Rock Show." From that, it's pretty much rocking pop tunes, paced with a couple of ballads and a little whimsy, all graced with a little of the production flair that distinguished Band on the Run. But where that record was clearly a studio creation and consciously elaborate, this is a straightforward affair where the sonic details are simply window dressing…

This album was recorded during their mostly sold out world tour in Düsseldorf, Germany, the country where the band - apart from their home country - celebrated their biggest success to date. The sound of the recording is good and catches the intensity of the gig well. A document of pure fun and musical enthusiasm that make the listener smile regardless if he likes Billy Talent’s style or not. Rarely has a live recording been released lately that captures the atmosphere and punch of a gig so nicely… one has to take a look around from time to time to make sure the four guys are not rocking directly behind one’s back. Occasional mistakes have not been erased and heighten the live experience, and singer Ben Kowalewicz does not seem to care that on stage he misses a note or two regularly, which makes the Punk Rock roots shimmer through.

SLOWLY: Song for Keith Jarrett was recorded at the end of 2020, a watershed year for pianist Noah Haidu. As critical accolades streamed in for his innovative multi-media release DOCTONE, Haidu was on the verge of realizing another ambitious project: recording a trio album with one of the greatest bass and drum combinations in jazz: Billy Hart and Buster Williams, whose own remarkable collaboration began half a century ago. The project will be released via Sunnyside Records on May 7, 2021, one day before Jarrett’s 75th birthday.

Digitally remastered edition of this classic solo release from the Deep Purple member. The new artwork includes liner notes exclusively written by Roger Glover. The Gemini Suite was first performed in September 1970 at the Royal Festival Hall and was recorded the following year at the Abbey Road and de Lane Lea studios as the first solo project of Jon Lord. It is a six piece classic-rock fusion work inspired by the members of Deep Purple and was recorded with the London Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Oscar winner Malcolm Arnold and is featuring the guest musicians Albert Lee, Yvonne Elliman, Tony Ashton as well as the two other Deep Purple member Ian Paice and Roger Glover.

The Night Watch is a terrific live album capturing the third incarnation of King Crimson - featuring Robert Fripp, John Wetton, Bill Bruford, and David Cross - at the Amsterdam Covertgebouw on November 23, 1973. Some Crimson fans consider this lineup to be the most musically adept in the band's history, and the dense, yet dexterous, playing will tell any curious listener exactly why this is so. It remains an album that will primarily please the diehards, but for those fans, The Night Watch is an essential purchase.

Fated never to rise to any heights at all, Hard Stuff – formed by guitarist John Du Cann following his unceremonious firing from Atomic Rooster – had already been through two names before they were signed to Deep Purple's Purple label; Daemon lasted a few rehearsals; Bullet survived a single; they became Hard Stuff after another Bullet fired a legal complaint at them, and Bulletproof was their riposte. It is heavy and it is loud. Period reviews mused on the Purple influence and they are not far from the mark, but only if organ were excised from the mix, to be replaced by guitars, guitars, and more guitars.
