It was in June 1960 that THE SHADOWS entered Abbey Road Studios to record APACHE, the track that was to become the instrumental hit of the decade. It shot to No.1 and became an instant classic and saw the start of a string of over thirty hits – including another four No.1’s, WONDERFUL LAND, KON-TIKI, DANCE ON! and FOOT TAPPER - for the group who pioneered the now familiar band line up of two guitars, bass and drums. APACHE also inspired a new generation of artists such as Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Pete Townshend and Queen’s Brian May to take up the guitar. Blues Hall of Fame vocalist Jimmy Witherspoon teams up with guitar hero Robben Ford at Hollywood's famed Troubadour in March of 1972. This never-before-released radio broadcast performance features nine tracks, including three Witherspoon originals plus classic songs from Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Lieber and Stoller. This is one of the earliest recordings of Ford's extraordinary career, starting back in 1970 with Charlie Musselwhite and Witherspoon before joining Tom Scott's L.A. Express. One of the most successful and popular German-speaking schlager singers of all time, Ronald Keiler was born in Berlin in 1952. Keiler was working as a marketing executive in a car firm in 1974 when he was discovered by producer Gerd Kämpfe, and he issued his debut single, "Was ist wohl aus ihr geworden?," in 1976 under the stage name Roland Kaiser. A legendary entertainer, Kaiser has released numerous chart-topping albums and singles, most notably "Santa Maria," "Dich zu Lieben," and "Sieben Fässer Wein."

Eagle-Eye Cherry, the singer of the hit "Save Tonight" (which has easily surpassed half a billion streams), returns with his seventh studio album, "Become A Light." With this album, he reconnects with the energy of rock and post-punk from his childhood, drawing on memories of his teenage years in New York City - where he even lived next door to the members of Talking Heads. "Become A Light" was produced in two parts. Half was written and recorded in Los Angeles with renowned songwriter and producer Jamie Hartman (Kylie Minogue, Rag'n'Bone Man, Kygo) and The Killers bassist Mark Stoermer. Andromeda were formed in mid-1968 by guitarist, vocalist and chief songwriter John Cann after the gradual collapse of his previous band, mod/psych legends The Attack. A John Peel session saw the trio briefly come under the DJ's wing before they signed to RCA. Released in late 1969, their self-titled album attracted highly positive reviews, and is now regarded by many collectors as a definitive example of the nascent British hard rock sound. But it failed to sell, and Andromeda imploded when Cann jumped ship to join Atomic Rooster, where he wrote and sang Top Five single 'Devil's Answer'.

Shatter Me is the second studio album by American violinist and solo artist Lindsey Stirling. It is Stirling's first album to include collaborations with other vocalists, featuring Lzzy Hale and Dia Frampton, and Stirling has said its musical style is more progressive than her first album. The album was released on iTunes on April 25, 2014, in most of the world, on April 29, 2014, in the United States, and on May 2 in Germany. The first single, "Beyond the Veil", was released on March 24, peaking at number 22 on Billboard Dance and Electronic Digital Songs. The video was posted the following day. The second single, "Shatter Me", was released on April 23, accumulating 1.3 million views after one day on YouTube.

It's like stepping back in time to witness the explosive performances that defined the band. The vinyl includes an etching and three sides of music, preserving the intensity and rawness of each show.

The begena is a large ten-stringed lyre which is part of the traditional Amharic heritage of Ethiopia. The Amharas, who have long formed the politically and culturally dominant people of Ethiopia, mainly inhabit the central and northern part of the country. In the majority, they follow the monophysite Orthodox Tewahido Church established in the early fourth century AD. Music plays a very important part in the life of the church. Most of the liturgy is sung and, contrary to secular music, it is accompanied by percussion instruments only. The begena occupies a special place because it is the one melodic instrument exclusively dedicated to the spiritual repertory. Because of its mythical origin, it is highly respected. Tradition holds that the begena was given to king David by God, and brought to Ethiopia by Menelik I, together with the Ark of the Covenant. It has always been the instrument of kings and nobles. Played by pious men and women of letters, it never became widespread. But it never disappeared either, not even under the Derg regime (1974-1991) which had banned the instrument.
