'This whole record is a process of trying to reconnect with what really matters. whether it's what in your heart or with the world, putting your feet on grass and feeling the earth beneath you' says Ross Godfrey. 'For me, 'We Live and Die' is about my duration in the band and the music world and life in general', Skye says of the lead single. 'The lines become blurred after all this time. In a way, it's a homage to the thirty years of being in Morcheeba which is 60% of my existence'.

Fifteen tracks covering the pioneering blues-rock guitarist's '60s work, which was by far his best and most influential. Bloomfield worked with a bunch of bands during the decade, and the compilation flits rather hurriedly from his contributions to the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Electric Flag, to his collaborations with Al Kooper, as well as some late-'60s solo tracks (none of his groundbreaking mid-'60s work with Dylan is here). Collectors will be interested in the first five songs, which date from previously unreleased sessions produced by John Hammond in late 1964 and early 1965. Featuring Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica, this pre-Butterfield Blues Band outfit plays convincingly, but the material is standard-issue, and Bloomfield's vocals are thin and weak (they didn't improve much over time)…

Can - Monster Movie (1969). Though Monster Movie was the first full-length album in what would become a sprawling and often genre-defining discography, Can were on a level well ahead of the curve even in their most formative days. Recorded and released in 1969, Monster Movie bears many of the trademarks that Can would explore as they went on, as well as elements that would set the scene for the burgeoning Krautrock movement. This would be the only album Can's first singer Malcolm Mooney would sing the entirety of, as he was replaced by Damo Suzuki by the time of 1970's Soundtracks, leaving the band after going through a highly unstable time. Mooney was known for his erratic ways, and some of that mania undoubtedly comes through here, with his caterwauling howls on the unexpectedly garage-influenced "Outside My Door"…

    FLAC (tracks), Lossless | 1:15:47 | 434 Mb

The first complete recording of a colourful collection of keyboard dances from early 17th-century Italy.
What we know of Giovanni Antonio Cangiasi (? - c.1614) is restricted to the publication details of his surviving music. Four collections of sacred works were published between 1590 and 1612, and there followed, in 1614, this sole extant example of his keyboard music. He lived as a Franciscan friar in Milan, and dedicated this volume of Scherzi forastieri to ‘the most noble community of Castelnuovo di Scrivia’, referring to a comune in Piedmont now encompassed by the town of Alessandria, 70km southeast of Milan; perhaps this was his birthplace.

The final volume in a distinguished quartet cycle by one of the most exciting Italian ensembles of the present day.
Founded in 2011, Quartetto Noûs have been playing Shostakovich since their earliest concerts together, and their performances, both in concert and on record, bear the mark of both deep study and complete identification with the scores. These are risk-taking, thoroughly embedded performances, as many critics have recognised, which live up to the edgy intensity of the music itself.

Wolfgang Haffner's Life Rhythm Live captures the immersive energy and rhythmic brilliance of his tour, transforming the studio recordings into a vibrant, real-time experience. "Playing this music live has been an incredible journey," says Haffner. "It's about more than just performing the songs—it's about capturing a feeling, sharing the pulse of life with the audience."
Known for shaping music from the drums rather than simply showcasing virtuosity, Haffner once again challenges conventions. His masterful touch allows the groove to lead, creating a deep musical dialogue between melody and rhythm.

The Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert by Benny Goodman, Columbia Records catalogue item SL-160, is a two-disc LP of swing and jazz music recorded at Carnegie Hall in New York City on January 16, 1938. First issued in 1950, the landmark recording captured the premiere performance given by a big band in the famed concert venue. The event has been described as "the single most important jazz or popular music concert in history: jazz's 'coming out' party to the world of 'respectable' music." The title, mastered from preserved acetates,[c] was among jazz's first double albums,[2] first live recordings, and first to sell over a million copies. One of the earliest records of Benny Goodman music issued on the new long-playing format, the concert recording was also sold in a set of nine 45 rpm records in 1950 by Columbia. The subsequent discovery of the aluminum studio masters made from the original recording resulted in several high-quality CD reissues beginning in 1998.

Homespun takes you back to step into a new musical universe. Mike Oldfield's concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on June 25th, 1973 was the very first live performance of Tubular Bells in its entirety–a highly experimental and ambitious work that had only been released a month prior (May 1973). For many in the audience, it would have been their first exposure to the piece live, and possibly their first time hearing something quite like it at all. This live radio broadcast from BBC Radio 1 has been remastered here to transport you to the otherworldly and ethereal planes where prog met classical music in a live experimental sound collage.
