The Lost Tapes Vol. 1 (CD Digipak) is a captivating album by the renowned rock band Trapeze. Released by Metalville, this album is a treasure trove of previously unreleased tracks that will delight fans and captivate new listeners alike.

The second volume of Trapeze's official studio and live albums, collected onto five CDs. Formed from two Midlands bands, Finders Keepers, featuring Mel Galley (guitar/vocals), Dave Holland (drums) and Glenn Hughes (bass/vocals), and the Montanas' John Jones (vocals/ trumpet) and Terry Rowley (keyboards/guitar/flute), Trapeze were discovered by The Moody Blues, and signed to their own Threshold Records label. After three well received LPs, Glenn Hughes joined Deep Purple in 1973, finding worldwide fame and acclaim. Mel Galley assumed the role of lead singer and front man, joined on bass by Pete Wright and second guitarist, Rob Kendrick, with Dave Holland on drums. The quartet released 'Hot Wire' (CD1) on Warner Bros. In 1974, produced by Neil Slaven. 'Trapeze' (also on CD1), their second self-titled LP, was released by Warner Bros. In 1975. Produced by Steve Smith at Island Studios, the four-piece were also re-joined by Glenn Hughes on the tracks 'Chances' and 'Nothing For Nothing'. Trapeze's sixth and final studio album, 1979's 'Hold On' (CD2) was co-produced with famed producer Jimmy Miller. Now with future Uriah Heep singer Pete Goalby, 'Hold On' features six songs from Mel Galley and three from Goalby. 'Live At The Boar Club' (CD3) was recorded on September 13, 1975 in Nottingham, UK. Featuring Mel Galley, Rob Kendrick, Pete Wright and Dave Holland, with Terry Rowley on synthesizer. 'Live At Arlington' (CD4) saw the return to their classic power trio of Mel Galley, Dave Holland and original singer / bassist Glenn Hughes.

Trapeze were an English rock band formed in March 1969, by vocalist John Jones and guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley (who named the band), with guitarist Mel Galley, singer/bassist Glenn Hughes, and drummer Dave Holland. The band had a fairly fluid line up, finally dissolving in 1994, and although they never found commercial success themselves, several members went on to join better known bands, including Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, and Uriah Heep. The core and most familiar line-up of the band was Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley, and Dave Holland. After Glenn Hughes' departure in June 1973, Galley and Holland kept the band together with constantly varying members until 1979, when Holland went on to join Judas Priest. Holland tried to revive the band in 1990, after leaving Priest, but the band finally broke up in 1994. Their first three albums remain their best known and most commercially successful.

This 3CD deluxe edition Of ‘You Are The Music – We’re Just The Band’ has been expanded with the mono version of the ‘Coast To Coast’ single, plus the non-album tracks ‘Good Love’ and ‘Dat’s It’. Four tracks were aired for the 1973 Radio 1 In Concert series, taken from an “off-air” recording. One of Trapeze’s major strongholds was Texas, so it’s no surprise that this collection is completed with a track recorded in Dallas in 1972, plus a whole show from Houston the same year.

As the only simultaneously thorough and concise Trapeze anthology available to the public at large, High Flyers: The Best of Trapeze efficiently summarizes the British hard rock also-rans' career, but it's far from a perfect summation. Primarily because, rather thoughtlessly, High Flyers opens (and almost shuts!) Trapeze's case for belated respectability with two versions (U.K. and U.S.) of their 1970 single "Send Me No More Letters," a dated mish-mash of melodramatic vocal harmonies, orchestral strings, and flower power nonsense featuring soon-to-be ousted founding vocalist John Jones and organist Terry Rowley.

This Trapeze classic has been expanded with two bonus discs, packed with extras. It kicks off with a stereo edit and then a mono edit of the ‘Black Cloud’ single, followed by radio session versions of ‘Makes You Wanna Cry’ and ‘Medusa’. Disc Two finishes with an unreleased live show from the United States in March 1971. Disc Three features a second complete unreleased show from 1971, featuring all but two tracks from the “Medusa” LP.
