Dutch vocalist Trijntje Oosterhuis (aka Traincha) is a popular singer with a global fanbase whose music touches upon jazz, standards and contemporary pop/rock. Born in Amsterdam on February 5, 1973, Oosterhuis is the daughter of a theologian (Huub Oosterhuis) and a musician (Jozefien Melief, flutist for the Amsterdam Promenada Orchestra). Brought up in a culturally rich, supportive household, by the time she was 17, Oosterhuis had formed a group with her brother Tjeerd called Total Touch. Together the siblings performed consistently, even entering the Grote Prijs van Nederland, an important amateur music competition…

Trijntje Oosterhuis works on this album, also her return to the Blue Note label, together with the Jazz Orchestra Of The Concertgebouw. Together they have provided a number of Christmas classics with completely new arrangements.

Following the untimely death of Michael Jackson in 2009, it seemed inevitable that a whole host of star artists would pay their respects to the King of Pop on record. However, rumors of tribute albums from Ne-Yo and a star-studded compilation featuring Beyoncé and Mariah Carey never came to fruition, while the only notable Jacko dedications have appeared courtesy of the rather lesser-known reggae vocalist Clinark, U.S. pianist Bob Baldwin and London gospel choir Joyous Voices. Joining that surprisingly small list is Dutch jazz-soul singer Trijntje Oosterhuis, who was just out of the blocks, with this 15-track collection, Never Can Say Goodbye, released just six months after that fateful day in late June.

De samenwerking van Trijntje Oosterhuis met de Amerikaanse legende Burt Bacharach en het Metropole Orkest heeft inmiddels twee uiterst succesvolle albums opgeleverd. Genoeg materiaal voor een volledig concert gewijd aan het materiaal dat in de jaren zestig aan de basis stond van de carrière van wereldsterren als Dionne Warwick en Dusty Springfield. Dat concert vond plaats in de Heineken Music Hall, op 2 oktober 2009. Hoewel er weinig wordt afgeweken van de bekende arrangementen lukt het Trijntje toch de liedjes zich eigen te maken, waarmee ze dit tijdloze materiaal bij een hele nieuwe generatie luisteraars introduceert.

The Look of Love is the fourth solo album by Trijntje Oosterhuis, released on November 20, 2006. The album was released in Japan on January 17, 2007 under the artist name Traincha with a bonus song "Anyone Who Had a Heart (live)". The album consists of Burt Bacharach covers and was recorded with the Metropole Orchestra. The Metropole Orchestra was arranged by Vince Mendoza, who gained notoriety for arranging the Grammy winning album Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. The album was mixed by Al Schmitt.

Who'll Speak for Love features Trijntje Oosterhuis singing at her very best; she breathes new life into these songs. When Trijntje sings, you listen–and you listen closely, too because what she does is truly incredible. It always amazes me just how sensitive Trijntje gets when she delivers fine ballads like the ones on this album. This CD gives us a lot of great material performed by Trijntje whose name in German is Traincha. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is very nicely done.
