A series of minimal sketches and daydreams for meditative states created at Kubik Stone March and April 2023 by Ishq.

Eos is an celebration of the dawn. The album was written as a long form meditation peace and then embellished and layered to give a more evocative feel. It has many layers of harmonic undertones and was written and mixed between the hours of 3am and 6am.

"Winter Light" by Ishq is a reworked and granulated extended long form soundscape using elements of "Autumn Light" mixed with field recordings, sub sonic telemetry and subliminal harmonics and recordings to create a drifting drawn and deeply sedative ambient work.

Spring Light is the 3rd release in a series of 4 albums which started with Autumn and Winter Light and will finish with Summer Light.
Spring Light was inspired by a series of spontanoeus sketches made using 'Bloom' the software app by Brian eno and Peter Chilvers. These sketches were then pushed further into time and space and began to take on the form of the final work as hidden layers and sounds were added and embellishments made and resynthesis began to take effect.
As with Autumn and Winter Light the album and soundscape is largely pastoral or inspired by the local landscape down here in Cornwall but also delves deeper into local mythology and other magical aspects of the area drawing the the Genii loci or spirit of the land in larger measure to inspire and empower the work…

This is the 3rd and final album in a 3 CD set originally released on Txt recordings by Lee Norris and Matt Hillier as 'Plank and Ishq' and continues the journey through the land of the 'Crows An Wra' and mythical landscape of cornish radiophonic oscillations and Henge like vista's. Surfice to say its a fairly odd work at times, at other times light and floaty like a cornish opiate cream tea and dream like, detached, we cant use that word enough. The music was conjured from a mental space of freeform experimentation and fluid like acts of non conformity. It suits late night headphone excursions well and is its own work, something different and one for the collection, unique and a genuine work of art in some respects maybe as its uncontrived and seeks to just exist for its own sake.

The music and ambience harks back to the old days of 90's free form music where nothing was planned and the sonic worlds flowed out of the speakers. Its 'free music' for headphone tweakers, not written to impress or be perfect, not wrtten to be 'the best work', it was created to exist and paint a picture in a detached way and a colourfull one. Its what it is and unique and thats enough to warrant its existance.

Crows An Wra is the 1st in a 3 album collection of free form psychedelic inspired soundscapes and ambient pieces written in an experimental live flow using various studio exotica. Unique , colourfull with hidden layers and worlds of sound this music was written for deep immersive headphone listeners and people who like to float in mind space.

Six spaced ambient tracks from the archives from material going back many years to Indigo Egg sessions in 1995 but which we felt were a little more like Ishq works but recorded around the Indigo Egg period initially. Recorded for light headphone listening this release represents a few more lost moments from long ago which we reworked and mastered for collectors and chillout music fans.

"The Invisible Landscape" is a pastoral landscape painting for the imagination.
Ishq have been making music since about 1995 under various guises including Indigo egg, Ishvara, Elve, and a few other alter egos. Ishq music skirts between IDM electronica, deep ambience and even has some newage overtones. The emphasis seems to be on music as harmony.
Ishq means "love" in Persian and Hindi, it is also a word used by such past masters as Rumi to express love of the divine and the ecstatic love of the Sufi or lover of God and all God's creation.

"Autumn Light" is an album of 5 melodic and harmonic ambient tracks centered around recurring themes and motifs which were written to reflect the mood of Autumn here and the fading light of the season.

A long form piece of music and last in a series of 4 seasonal albums "Summer Light" is a combination of morphing space/resynthesis and field recording with hidden worlds of sound which evoke distant landscapes in the imagination and summer like hazy afternoons deep in a woodland dream , sat under a tree in inner/outer space.

Ixland is the debut album by Indigo Egg aka Ishq, Matt Hillier. Originally written in the late 90's and subsequently shelved and worked on over the years Ixland has now finally found its way onto CD and in a remastered and finished version. The album is a colourful and both melodic and also tripped out series of tracks all forming one fluid vision with hints of everything from electro alien harmonics to tibetan cities in the clouds, organic and deep yet with hints of the lightness and beauty which have found their way into the music of Ishq.
