Billboard Chart-Topper Jazz Artist U-Nam is back with a brand new album “Surface Level”. Guitarist U-Nam has earned a deserved reputation for strong up-tempo groove driven Smooth Jazz. ‘Surface Level’ will consolidate that rep. His playing is clean and crystal clear – you can hear the influence of George Benson in it. Tunes such as the infectious ‘Going For Miles’ and upbeat ‘Plus de Funk’ groove nicely. ‘Surface Level’ is another catchy piece. Covers of Dayton’s ‘Sound Of Music’ and the Mary Jane Girls ‘All Night Long’ add familiarity to the set and are rendered tastefully.

Accomplished producer, composer and guitarist U-Nam is best known for his #1 hit “Street Life” on the US Billboard charts in 2007. But it isn’t just in Smooth Jazz that he has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, he is also well-known as a respected songwriter and producer in France in the Pop and R&B genres having worked with artists such as Barry White, Kool & the Gang, Billy Paul, French Pop-Idol, MC Solaar and more.

His previous solo release, “Weekend in L.A” (A Tribute to George Benson) has reached the #1 position on Amazon US in the Neo-Soul and Smooth Jazz categories and #1 on iTunes for Jazz in Japan. The album features stars including Patrice Rushen, Phil Perry, Stokley Williams, George Duke, Marcus Miller, et al.

U-Nam has had the opportunity to perform in Russia, Dubai, Malaysia, and tour the US and Europe as part of major festivals.

“C’est Le Funk” the first single from his latest album of the same name, was selected as the “Song of the Year” on KHIT-HD3 ST LOUIS. “Something’s Up,” the second single from C’est Le Funk, reached #29 on the US Billboard Jazz Charts and #15 on the SmoothJazz.com Charts.

In 2014, U-Nam has been touring with saxophonist Shannon Kennedy. Their performances brought them to SoCal (Humphrey’s San Diego, Spaghetinni Seal Beach, Jazz in the Gardens Palm Springs) as well as Malaysia for the World Youth Jazz Festival.

On September 8th, U-Nam released his latest album “C’est Le Funk” which went straight to the top of the charts on its first day, reaching #1 on the Amazon US“Best Sellers” List for Funk Albums, #1 for Smooth Jazz Albums and #19 in Overall Jazz.

The single from his latest release, “Smoovin’,” reached #18 on the US BillboardCharts and his highly acclaimed album, “C’est le Funk”, was #1 on the AmazonBest Selling list for Smooth Jazz, Funk and Jazz Fusion.

The album has also been #6 on the SmoothJazz.com Top 50 Charts and #2 on their Indie Charts.
U-Nam‘s latest album “C’est Le Funk”, which went straight to the top of the charts on its 1st day, has also reached #1 on the Amazon US “Bestsellers” lists for Smooth Jazz, Funk & Fusion.
Each of the singles from the album have charted in the US Top 30 Billboard Smooth Jazz Charts, with the latest single, “Risin’ to the Top“, reaching #17.
