The Hollies are an English rock group known for their pioneering and distinctive three part vocal harmony style. The Hollies became one of the leading British groups of the 1960s (231 weeks on the UK singles charts during the 1960s; the 9th highest of any artist of the decade) and into the mid 1970s. They are one of the few British pop groups of the early 1960s that have never officially broken up and continue to record and perform. In recognition of their achievements, the Hollies were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

Hollies Sing Dylan is a 1969 cover album where the Hollies sing Bob Dylan songs. It was also released in the US as Words and Music by Bob Dylan with a different cover but using the same band image and track order. This album was recorded and released following Graham Nash's departure from the band to join David Crosby and Stephen Stills in mid 1968 after early sessions for a follow-up to the psychedelic concept album, Butterfly broke down. Nash became frustrated when the other band members showed opposition to lyrics in his latest compositions. By that time, Nash was the only member of the band experimenting with LSD and Marijuana and a rift was forming between him and his beer drinking band-mates. Wikipedia

Hollies Sing Hollies is the ninth studio album released in England by The Hollies. It was released in November 1969 by Parlophone, their second album that year coming 6 months after an entire album of Bob Dylan covers. It was their first album of original compositions since the departure of Graham Nash and the second album by The Hollies to feature Terry Sylvester, on rhythm guitar and first to feature Terry Sylvester compositions as well as an instrumental composition by bassist Bernie Calvert. The U.S. version, titled "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", included the hit single by the same name, while omitting the tracks "Soldier's Dilemma" and "Marigold: Gloria Swansong". Confessions of the Mind is the 1970 released album by The Hollies. It was released in the United States as Moving Finger, with a different track sequence, the track "I Wanna Shout" omitted and replaced with the Clarke/Sylvester penned "Marigold: Gloria Swansong" saved from the previous album (Hollies Sing Hollies aka He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - U.S.). In Germany, it was released as The Hollies Move On. The UK version peaked at UK #30. The US version peaked at US #21.

Distant Light is the 1971 released album by The Hollies. It was the last UK album by the band to feature lead vocalist and founding member Allan Clarke, until their 1974 self-titled album. It is reputed to be the first album to come out of A.I.R. studios. The album spawned two hit singles. The Allan Clarke penned "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress," which peaked at U.S. #2 and UK #32, and the Tony Hicks penned "Long Dark Road" US #26. Romany is an album by The Hollies, the first not to feature distinctive, tenor-range lead singer Allan Clarke, who had left to try a solo career and was replaced by a Swedish singer with lower vocal register, Mikael Rickfors–-prompting a somewhat radical reshaping of their trademark vocal harmony style. It was also the first Hollies album to feature only one song written or co-written by lead guitarist Tony Hicks, a member of the band's two in-house songwriting teams, Clarke-Hicks-Nash and Clarke-Hicks-Sylvester. Hicks was the only member of those teams to contribute a song to the album; Rickfors was the only other band member to contribute an original composition to it. The U.S. Epic version which reached #84 on the Billboard 200, omitted the track "Lizzy and the Rainman", and has a slightly altered side one track order. "Courage of Your Convictions" was the one song that sounded most like their previous smash hit "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress", but was inexplicably never issued as a single.
