By the time Herbie Hancock created Man-Child for Columbia Records in 1975, he was already an accomplished composer and a popular performer on the festival and concert circuit. Over the years, his style has ranged from funk and straight jazz to electronic and worldbeat. On Man-Child, his 13th album, Hancock leans toward "R&B", infusing his songs with added depth. Hancock's musical genius was sought-after by Hollywood with mm scores for Blow Up, A Soldier's Story, Jo Jo Dancer and Your Life Is Calling. Hancock earned the Best Original Score Oscar for his work on 'Round Midnight. Accompanying Hancock on Man-Child are an amazing round-up of talented musicians including: Wayne Shorter, Bennie Maupin; Stevie Wonder, Paul Jackson, David T. Walker and Wah Wah Watson.
