An unheralded landmark in art rock, this features Savage Rose keyboardist Thomas Koppel's score for a ballet by Flemming Flindt (the title translates to "Triumph of Death"). Nearly entirely instrumental (one song features Annisette on vocals), this is one of the finest classically influenced rock records. Moody and melancholy, at times almost doomy, yet always melodic, this 40-minute selection of haunting pieces prominently features the group's unique underwater organ sound and makes for compelling listening.

Knud Torben Christensen better known by his stage name Sebastian was born as on December 19, 1949. He is a Danish singer, guitarist and composer. Starting as a musician in the late 1960s he is still active and very popular. So far his career has spanned four decades. Having worked in the folk genre, he has become one of the most prominent pop/rock musicians in Denmark and has scored numerous films and plays. Since the 1990s he has primarily worked with Danish musicals, with great success.

Founded in 1966 in Skjern, Denmark, by brothers Peter A.G. Nielsen (vocals) and Jens G. Nielsen (drums), Gnags are a Danish rock band originally founded in the 1960s whose popularity spans decades, extending into the next century. While other bandmembers came and went over the decades, the one constant was Peter (born December 17, 1952, in Skjern, Denmark) as the band's well-known frontman. Jens left the band in 2000 after four decades of activity. After moving from Skjern to Aarhus in 1971, Gnags made their album debut in 1973. A couple years later the band released its second album, Del af en Ring (1975), on the label Genlyd. Gnags released a steady succession of albums on Genlyd from then onward, and the association between the band and the label extended from 1975 into the next century. While the style of Gnags over the years remained rooted in rock & roll, it did change with the times; for instance, in the early '80s the band went though a brief reggae phase. In 2005 the retrospective box set Siden 66 was released on Genlyd. During this post-millennial period, Gnags remained popular in Denmark. Latter-day albums such as Skønhedspletter (2002) and Legepladsen (2008) reached the Top Ten, if not the Top Five, of the Danish albums chart.

Danish music/theater/art collective founded 1969 with the purpose of making "poltical, proletarian art". The collective counted musicians, actors, writers and visual artists. The groups recorded music was written for plays or cabarets. The division of the greater collective that worked with music was also called "Røde Mor Rockcircus". The line-up has changed over the years from the 1971 debut album to the 1976 final - and most succesfull - album, "Hjemlig Hygge". Singer and composer Troels Trier may be seen as the groups leading member. Among those also associated with Røde Mor are Leif Sylvester Petersen and Erik Clausen.

Danish singer and songwriter C.V. Jørgensen (b. May 9, 1950, Lyngby) held the almost unchallenged position as Denmarks most acclamied songlyrics writer for the major part of the 70's and the 80's. His 1981 album "Tidens Tern" is one of the 10 non-classical albums on the offical danish cultural heritage-list. Both vocally and lyrically he has a light resemblance of Bob Dylan.
In somewhat obscurity he released his first two albums "En Stynet Strejfer" (1974) and "T-shirts, Terylenebukser & Gummisko" (1975) on the small Hookfarm label, but immediately after releasing the 1977 album "Storbyens Små Oaser" on Metronome Records A/S he had his breakthrough. His 3 albums for the label produced several national hits, several of them combining his catchy tunes with his characteristic sarcastic, semi-political lyrics. With the now classic "Tidens Tern" he stepped even further up the ladder, headlining in the biggest national venues and making his songs known across generations. After that he recorded less frequently but still at a hight artistic level until his second epic album, the 1990 "I Det Muntre Hjørne" that would mark his end as a current star. Although he has released since then, his later releases have never recieved the recognition, reviews or sales of his earlier work.

Danish major league political rock/pop group founded in 1974 and topping their career in the early 80s. The groups major songwriter and vocalist is Tom Lundén, who wrote what is perhaps the most widely known protestsong in Denmark, the Christiania autonome society anthem "I kan ikke slå os ihjel". The band that performed the song on the Christiania benefit album as Det Internationale Sigøjner Kompagni became the initial line up of Bifrost: Lundén, Ida Klemann, Annapurna, Finn Jensen, Torben Andersen, Asger Skjold-Rasmussen, and Mogens Fischer. After the debut album Jensen was replaced by Mikael Miller on guitar.
After the 1979 third album Læn Dem Ikke Ud, the group reorganized. Lundén, Klemann and Miller was joined by John Teglgaard, Jeppe Reipurth, and Knut Henriksen. In 1980 the reformed Bifrost released an album of English language songs performing under alias Crazy Canary. In 1981 and 1982 followed the band's fourth and fifth album that was the fastest selling albums for the group. Then female lead vocalist Ida Kleeman left and was replaced by Pia Cohn in 1983 but by then the group's popularity was fastly fading. The group folded in 1987 after the release of a final album; by then the lineup was reduced to the duo of Lundén and Cohn surrounded by a number of studio musicians.
In 1997 Lundén and Cohn recorded some new songs that were included on the retrospective compilation Hjerte Til Salg.

Danish band with a clear political expression, their lyrics among other things protesting against American imperialism and the use of nuclear power in Denmark. The name refers to the theatre "Jomfru Ane Teatret" in Aalborg (Denmark) from where the group originated.

Lone Kellermann og Rockbandet var en dansk musikgruppe, der blev dannet i sluningen af 1976 af Lone Kellermann, sang, Bjørn Uglebjerg, trommer, Joachim Ussing, bas, Ivan Horn, guitar, Niels Pedersen, orgel, og Thomas Grue, guitar. I 1977 blev Horn, Pedersen og Grue erstattet af Nils Henriksen og Thor Backhausen. Denne konstellation turnerede flittigt med Lone Kellermann ind til foråret 1979. og indspillede 2 lp'er titler: i 1978 Før Natten Bli’r Til Dag CBS (130.000 solgt) med bl.a. singlen Se Venedig og Dø ( 25.000 solgt) skrevet af Gasolin' der også sang med på kor, og i 1979 Tilfældigt Forbi CBS (25.000 solgt). Ussing og Henriksen blev i foråert 1979 erstattet af Wili Jønsson ,bas, og Billy Cross, guitar. Den konstellation indspillede ingen plader og eksisterede kun i en meget kort periode. Derefter gik Uglebjerg ud og bandet havde meget skiftende besætninger i et par år og indspillede en lp Fod Under Eget Bord inden opløsningen.

Kim Larsen started this group before Gasolin' and gathered the group together again in 1975, but changed name to Sylvester's Jukebox, with Kim Larsen artistname written beside on releases. The band released their only album in 1978.
