Poltraghost - Nineties Business Woman (2017)

After meeting each other working on an independent film in Missouri, around the mid 2000's, Jesse Nyander & Joshua Trimmell started kicking it due to a mutual taste in music, fashion, photography, skateboarding & film. That friendship led to them loosely experimenting with electronic music, short films, & fashion, which led to the birth of Poltraghost. Around 2010, they began sending beats, loops & samples via Dropbox, despite being in two different states. As Jesse lived in Colorado & Joshua in Missouri, they stayed in constant communication & started a tradition of meeting up at least once a year in Missouri to record an improvised album in less than 48 hours. Equally producing, arranging, looping, & writing, they created several albums worth of material. After making music this way for the last 7 years, their energy from ideas, demos, experimental bedroom sessions, & Dropbox tracks accumulated into newly completed songs that would become the official debut album: Nineties Business Woman. Combining their favorite elements from 90's House & Techno, with experimental pop, & traces of cinematic electronic music from the late 70's & early 80's, Poltraghost blends together multiple decades of classic electronic dance music to create a psychedelic disco that is uniquely theirs.
