Edmundo Ros and his orchestra with the prestige of another recording of Decca Phase 4 Stereo in an album released in Spain in 1974, bringing together twelve songs having in common the fact to be about regions or cities from the South. The bongo percussion instrument is the protagonist. Musical arrangements have been carefully adapted to all Latin-American rhythms. Interpretations of the bongo –often performed by Edmundo Ros himself-, have also sought, above discipline scores, add just improvised fragments resulting delightful (how not to enjoy the rhythm of 'El cumbanchero'!).Track list:
So who could expect the brilliant conversion of songs like 'Deep in the heart of Texas' on conga, 'My old Kentucky home' in chachacha, 'Moon Over Miami' in bolero rhythm or the result of adaptations to the waltz of 'Roses from the South' or by 'When saints go marching in', etc.? This is one of the great recordings that emerged from the master and the musical genius of Edmundo Ros and his orchestra.
