After the success of Dave's debut album "Legends", he received acclaim from critics, musicians, and listeners alike. Dave was nominated for the Downbeat Critics Poll 1979 as well as nominated by Latin N.Y. magazine for Best New Flutist. He has appeared at Carnegie Hall, sharing the "S.R.O." bill with Maynard Ferguson and as a featured guest solist with Hubert Laws.
Dave's second album presents the two sides of his cultural experience. Growing up in the South Bronx, his music has both "Funk" and "Latin" roots. This album brings these two sides of Dave Valentin to the forefront. Dave's music is like a hawk……strong, confident and soaring.
