Acclaimed singer-songwriter, sax, keyboard player, band leader, sideman musician and more, Randall Bramblett’s latest record is heaped in powerhouse New Orleans soul, R&B, funk and Blues; making it a wall-to-wall soundscape on Paradise Breakdown, his 16th album release.
It’s more than likely, that he would have made more if he hadn’t been off playing with everyone from Steve Winwood to Hot Tuna, via Gregg Allman, Levon Helm, Delbert McClinton, the Atlantic Rhythm Section, Marc Cohn, the Atlanta Rhythm Section plus a host of others too.

He’s still very much underrated, yet one of the greatest musicians around, and there have been many accolades handed to Bramlett over the years, and he still somehow flies under the radar like a stealth bomber.
It was when Blues legend, Bettye LaVette released a full album of his songs (which included a co-write or two with Davis Causey to whom Paradise Breakdown is dedicated) that I first discovered him and I’ve never looked back.

Fire Down In Our Souls opens the album in a lazy, semi-restless fashion but before things start to brew, his smoky vocals speak of living without another and gently reflects on the ‘times when ‘they’ walked together. Eventually, Bramblett’s trademarked fiery, lead electric guitar makes a strong imprint as he looks to take the pain away.
