Sounds From Jamdown is a reflection on the journey Mista Savona has had over the past 2 years. Releasing the seminal album collaboration 'Born A King’ in 2014, with iconic Jamaican singer Sizzla, shifted his world further into performing and recording non stop. Mista Savona has gone on to perform at festivals globally including stops at Symbiosis Gathering (California), Rainbow Serpent (Australia), Boom (Portugal), Glastonbury (UK) and even playing before Damian Marley to a massive crowd at Boomtown Fair 2016 (UK). He has also gone on to record an incredible ‘Havana meets Kingston’ project with the legendary Sly & Robbie and Cuban musicians including some from Buena Vista Social Club.
The album takes us to the heart of recording with classic Jamaican singers as well as the journey the music took through remixes with electronic artists who’ve put their spin on classic Reggae and Dancehall recordings. Hitting on both organic moments and tough bass heavy bangers, the compilation is tied together with vocals and lyrics from some of the best in the industry, featuring Burro Banton, Capleton, Cornel Campbell, Determine, Iyashanti, Johnny Clarke, Prince Alla, Vida Sunshyne and of course Sizzla.
