Live At The Apollo, 1962 is the 1963 live album by American singer James Brown. Originally released on King Records, this is taken from the Polydor CD released in 1990. You are able to hear what he influenced to the world.
For many people, this is one of the best live albums ever recorded, and easily one of James Brown's best live albums, if not one of the best recordings of his career, period. The album became an instant success, and radio stations were playing this as if it was a single, which would force King Records to release a few proper 45's. The original LP featured overdubbed applause, but when it came time to re-release it in 1990, it was discovered that it wasn't needed. The energy of the original crowd at The Apollo was all you needed to hear the energy that went on that night.

James Brown would continue to release live albums, including a small handful of returns to the Apollo Theater (Revolution Of The Mind, recorded and released in 1971, is subtitled Live At The Apollo Vol. III). By then, his shows would double and triple in length, but in 1962, thirty minutes was all you needed to get over a crowd. Other artists were lucky to have two songs, James Brown was able to give the crowd half an hour of his time, and leave them coming. Back for more, that is. Live At The Apollo separated him from everyone else, and would become the platform for everything he would do for the next 15 years.

NOTE: This is the CD release from 1990, not the 2004 remaster with bonus tracks.
