Günter Noris - Musik Zum Tanzen Und Träumen (1984)

A German bandleader, pianist, arranger and composer.
Growing up with three brothers in Bad Kissingen, Günter Maier was the eldest son of a postman early in touch with music and studied piano. He was classically trained at the Bavarian State Conservatory in Würzburg and studied piano and composition. His studies he financed as jazz musicians performing in American clubs as a member of the Hep Cats combo . Even after successful graduation he initially joined on as a jazz musician with the Helmut Brandt Combo on. In 1961, it undertook RIAS for his RIAS Dance Orchestra in Berlin as a pianist and deputy conductor.
Hildegard Knef made him in 1966 music director of her first song tour. At that time, he lay down on the "Villa Noris" in his hometown of the artist name "Noris" to. In 1967, Noris changed as a pianist, arranger and bandleader for WDR after Cologne and went with this orchestra in 1968 to a successful tour of Japan. The WDR 1970 took his musical Pierre and Madeleine with René Kollo and Gitte Haenning on.
In 1971 he founded the Bundeswehr Big Band , with whom he also the musical program of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and the Football World Cup in 1974 designed. After retiring from the army in 1983 he founded his own Gala Big Band with the typical "Noris" sound.
From 1977 to 1996 Noris brought Hugo Strasser and Max Greger 20 official dance records of the year for the general German Dance Teachers Association out (ADTV). In 1995, his big band from the ADTV for "best dance orchestra in the world" award.
Günter Noris had about 2,500 live performances in 15 countries in just 40 years. The proceeds of his charity concerts in the millions. German President Richard von Weizsäcker conferred and personally handed him the Federal Cross of Merit. To celebrate its 70th Birthday (2005) honored him Former Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister President Jürgen Rüttgers. Noris died only two years later in his longtime residence Kerpen-Horrem.
