"Rizitika" are old traditional songs, local to the greek island of Creta. Their name means "songs of the mountains' roots" and they express with a very authentic way the feelings of the Cretan people. Yiannis Markopoulos had the idea to collect some of the best rizitika and release this historical album with the excellent singer Nikos Xylouris. The talented and humble singer adds the magic of his voice to 10 diamonds of the Cretan tradition, arranged and conducted by the also Cretan, Yiannis Markopoulos. An invaluable CD.
