“Stairway To Brazil…The Brazilian Tribute To LED ZEPPELIN”, released in 2021, here we have 15 Brazilian bands with female vocals providing their versions of classics by the Legend of Led Zeppelin.Tracklist:
Fortunately for us music fans, Secret Service Records doesn't stop. Those who follow the label's work know that the work developed there is first rate. In addition to some important releases from the Brazilian scene, such as Torture Squad, for example, other tributes to classic names from the worldwide Rock / Metal scene have already had several of their classics re-recorded and 'covered' by top bands here in our country.
Names like Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Kiss, AC/DC, Deep Purple and Slayer have already had their tributes released, that is, only good and first-rate stuff. Now, it's time for the Led Zeppelin tribute, which features a feature that only the Deep Purple tribute had: only bands with female vocals. An extra charm for this great initiative!
The opening couldn't be better: one of Zeppelin's greatest epics, 'Kashmir' was brilliantly interpreted by the band No One Spoke. I confess that I did not know the work of the band from Santa Catarina. I was also able to check out the latest clip “Fear of Regret” and I was amazed.
Another band that surpassed any expectations was Voccatus with a beautiful version of “All My Love” that was awesome. Listening to the tribute without reading the tracklist, it took me a while to recognize what the track was. It has a beautiful solo, the drum sound is impeccable and the bass always appears. Vandroya sent a chill down my spine by daring to record 'The Rover'. I remember that Primal Fear even re-recorded it and this track was even more Metal in my head. Daisa Munhoz and company did their part, recording direct and potent Metal just like the aforementioned German band.
Weedevil made an interesting Stoner version of “Heartbreaker” and Sleepwalker Sun made a consistent version of “Stairway to Heaven” that you can't miss.
Other bands did correct versions like Revengin (Living Lovin' Maid), Fenrir's Scar (Black Dog), Sacrificed (Immigrant Song), Melyra (Houses of the Holy) and White Death (For Your Life) giving their reading for these hymns of the British people.
The only track that didn't sound good to me was Corja's 'Good Times Bad Times'. I'm sure that the most extreme Metal fans will be able to enjoy this Death Metal version of one of the most Rock & Roll tracks that Led Zeppelin recorded in their career. I didn't like it.
