Produced by Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, guest players include Jason McGerr from DCFC on drums, and Matt Sharp from The Rentals/Weezer and Hunter Burgan from AFI on bass (Sharp on Sara's songs, Burgan on Tegan's.) Written while the twin sisters were apart, resting after touring the highly acclaimed 2004 album So Jealous. The record sounds a little more mature than the duo's past works, which makes complete sense, as the duo is maturing. Duh. (They're 26 now, mind you.) But it also sounds a little more melancholy than past efforts, which could be a result of the sisters being apart from each other while writing. Or a result of the state of the world. Or their dog died. Who knows?
