The Nightfly 2 is an interesting mixture of world music, ambient with dangerous inclinations to new age, jazz of the most refined and cool, fusion with sound of pop and if listened to late evening, it can act as from incentive for a beautiful raid by horseback on the wings of the fantasy.

“The nightfly” è un'interessante miscela di world music, ambient con pericolose inclinazioni new age, jazz del più raffinato e cool, fusion con impennate pop e insomma di quanto, ascoltato a tarda sera, possa fungere da incentivo per una bella cavalcata sulle ali della fantasia. Certo, a tratti manca forse di verve, in altri momenti perde di genuinità per abbracciare qualche formalismo di troppo, ma nel complesso è un mondo musicale che non manca di fascino, soprattutto quando a condurre i giochi c’è qualcuno – e questo è il caso del dj scozzese – che la musica l’ascolta davvero. Su questa compilation doppia – abilmente divisa in due volumi intitolati ‘musica per la notte’ e ‘ musica per il fine settimana’ – scorrono e si rincorrono nomi prestigiosi come Kitaro, Sakamoto, Clannad, Lokua Kanza, George Benson accanto ad altri che suoneranno familiari solo agli appassionati del genere o agli abituali frequentatori del programma di Nick. Relax, sogno, vita, libertà, amore: queste le parole chiave per riassumere i criteri di scelta della compilation e la sua capacità di propiziare momenti di serenità stellare. Niente new age sbandierata e molta serenità sinceramente sentita. Se è il vostro genere, accomodatevi, qui c’è il meglio in circolazione…
