Decca really were dreadful at wasting talent. They seemed not to value anything or have any vision of acts lasting more than six months. The Zombies and Them were two bands, who were pushed too hard to the point of break up, who clearly had a lot of talent and longevity in them.
This album is a very rare thing, it is a psychedelic influenced album that still sounds fresh and vibrant where others, although they may be charming, are a bit dated and irrelevant. Produced by Bill Wyman this album is full of little bits of whimsy mixed with some wonderful songs. Perhaps the Rolling Stone should have given him the same role on Their Satanic Majesties Request.
The reason you have not seen more of The End is that Decca, in their "wisdom", left this album on the shelf for 18 month by which time tastes had moved on to heavier power trio orientated rock and progressive rock. The End just broke up following poor album sales.
If you have come across this album then you really do need it, This is a genuine "Forgotten Classic" and I cna not think of a reason why anyone would not love it, other than them having a total lack of taste judgement and sanity.
