The Bongo Hop - Satingarona, Vol. 1 (2016)

The Bongo Hop c’est le nouveau projet afro caribéen du trompettiste Etienne Sevet. Sur Satingarona pt1, son premier carnet de voyages sonores, nourri de 8 années passées à Cali (Colombie), on retrouve donc les amis de la période caleña, comme Nidia Gongora (la voix d’Ondatropica et Quantic, qu’il avait découverte et filmée dès 2003, alors qu’elle était l’inconnue chanteuse du groupe folklorique Socavon) ou encore le rappeur Maikcel (Zalama), mais aussi le producteur multiinstrumentiste Patchworks (Voilaaa, The Dynamics, Mr President, Taggy Matcher, Uptown Funk Empire), rencontré à Lyon.
The Bongo Hop is the new afro caribean project presented by french trumpetist Etienne Sevet. On Satingarona pt 1, friends from his Colombian years, like vocalist Nidia Gongora (the voice of Ondatropica and Quantic, whom he’d discovered and filmed in 2003 as she was the unknown singer of folkloric ensemble Socavon), rapper Maikcel (Zalama crew), but also famous producer multinstrumentalist Patchworks (Voilaaa, the Dynamics, Taggy Matcher, Uptown Funk Empire) among others, join in for his first musical travel diary, inspired by 8 years as a Cali resident.
