Procession: An Aural History 1981-2010 is a compilation album by American post-punk band Savage Republic, released on September 7, 2010 by LTM Recordings. The release included selected material from all of the band's studio albums, including tracks from EPs and singles. The two-disc edition comes with a live performance of the band in Spain on January 30, 2010.

Formed by noted artist-designer Bruce Licher in 1981, and inspired equally by punk and Krautrock, the band went on to record four studio albums between 1982 and 1989, most issued through their own Independent Project Records label. The band were particularly popular in Europe, touring regularly, and even grazing mainstream consciousness with an appearance on the soundtrack of the movie Silence of the Lambs.

The original band split in 1989, but reformed twelve years later, releasing fifth album 1938 in 2007. This best of collection includes selected tracks from all albums - Tragic Figures, Ceremonial, Jamahiriya Democratique, Customs and 1938 - as well as rare singles including Swordfighter. The deluxe package also includes a 45 minute bonus live CD recorded at a festival concert in Spain on 30 January 2010.

From beginning to end, Savage Republic's discography is fascinating and unique, but it’s also quite uneven and necessitates an overview. LTM provides that with Procession: An Aural History. It hits upon each one of the band’s releases, from 1982’s Tragic Figures through 2007’s 1938, and illustrates SR's often-thrilling hybrid of scampering post-punk, caustic hardcore punk, clattering industrial, and ominous surf rock. That said, it merely scratches the surface and functions more as an introduction than a full trimming of the fat. (Besides, whether obtained on original vinyl or reissued CD, each SR release is a true work of graphic and packaging art.) A second disc documents a powerful 2010 gig recorded in Spain.
