The album is dedicated to the music genre "Ragtime", a genre particularly pronounced at the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century. Ragtime is characterized by a syncopated, i.e., "dragging" rhythm, which is why it got its name.Tracklist:
The composer represented by this young woman from Pancevo, Scott Joplin, was called the "King of Ragtime" due to his success and popularity in this genre.
Krokodil Studio, under its auspices and in cooperation with the Pančevo Cultural Center, will organize a concert promotion of Olga Petrović's piano solo album. The audience will have the opportunity to hear the new music, for the first time, at the concert on January 20 in the hall of the Cultural Center of Pancevo.
At that concert, the young pianist Olga Petrović will present us with a personal review of the ragtime musical style, recorded on the unique album Slow Rag, which contains selected compositions by Scott Joplin. This is the first time that a domestic interpreter dedicates an album to the works of this composer.
Regarding the upcoming concert promotion, Olga said that recording and working on the production of the album was an extremely valuable and challenging experience for her.
"The work on the album took place in a period that was filled, both in the world and in the personal field, with many difficult and important events, and I'm sure that a large part of it is woven into the music. I am glad that, together with the studio Krokodil, we managed to realize this, for me, very important album. I can't wait for it to get a concert life," said Olga Petrović.
