Niko Marks - Day of Knowing (2017)

Niko Marks' Day Of Knowing full-length is out on Planet E February 10th.

Marks, a keyboardist, singer and producer from Detroit, got his start as a studio musician, and played alongside Mike Banks, Scott Weatherspoon and Raphael Merriweathers in the group Members Of The House. Over the years he's also worked with Eddie Fowlkes and Carlos Nilmmns—the latter appears on Days Of Knowing's title track, originally issued as a single on Planet E last year.

The album is Marks' 44th, following releases on the likes of Delsin, EMI, Submerge and U2X Productions (home to most of his output). He says Day Of Knowing "contains compositions that capture various genres of music that have influenced my recordings… [such as] house, techno, classical, jazz and soul."

Planet E has also announced a partnership with !K7. Along with Days Of Knowing, an album from Terrence Parker and a reissue campaign delving into Planet E's back catalogue are in the works. Label founder Carl Craig says, "It's my honor to work again with !K7. We have worked together since both Planet E Communications and !K7 were young startups."
