The lyric side of Theodorakis, in a very important work, The Lyric Songs (Ta Lyrika). This rare album immortalizes a live concert, held in August 1977, on the hill of Lycabetus in Athens. You will have the opportunity to hear the composer himself, singing all the songs, backed by two female and one male voices. The arrangements are superb with a small orchestra of top musicians playing cello, classical guitar, piano, contra bass and percussions. Theodorakis, sings with his unique "stepping" style, giving a "rhythm" to all these sweet melodies. The contradiction between the melodic cello and the rhythmic way of Theodorakis is really captivating. A milestone in the Greek musical history.
