A wonderful later date from the Art Farmer/Benny Golson Jazztet – key proof that the ensemble continued to grow strongly long after their initial recordings in the 60s! There's a bold sound here – a strong dose of the lyrical energy that Farmer explored heavily in his own work of the 70s – underscored by some impeccable rhythms from a trio that features Mickey Tucker on piano, Ray Drummond on bass, and Albert Heath on drums – all players who really ground the group nicely, but with a different vibe than in the old days – much more in a (then) contemporary soul jazz mode. Curtis Fuller's trombone joins Farmer and Golson in the frontline – and titles include "Yesterday's Thoughts", "Fair Weather", "Moment To Moment", "Ease Away Walk", and "Along Came Betty".
