Jason Isbell has been in the studio this winter working on his follow-up to 2015’s fantastic Something More Than Free. That record is almost done, and Isbell has even begun teasing an announcement on his website. In the meantime, Isbell just announced that he and his band, The 400 Unit, will be releasing a covers EP for Record Store Day in April. The EP is called Live from Welcome to 1979 and was reportedly recorded live and “directly onto lacquer” at Nashville’s Welcome to 1979 studio. Release tracks include “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” and “Sway” (both originally performed by The Rolling Stones), John Prine’s “Storm Windows,” Candi Staton’s “Heart on a String,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City,” and Drive-By Truckers’ “Never Gonna Change.”Tracklist:
