    End of status report

This release by flutist Herbie Mann for his Kokopelli label is a disappointment. With a few exceptions (a remake of "Comin' Home Baby" and the bossa nova "Sir Charles Duke"), most of the Brazilian-based originals are rather forgettable and the interpretations by Mann and his five-piece rhythm section often border on easy-listening music. - by Scott Yanow, AMG

I do disagree with Scott Yanow's review, though. Sometimes carefree uplifting jazz has many fine moments to it. Mann achieves this here. The mix appears to be well crafted, too. - by Liderr
