Come è facilmente comprensibile dal titolo, tutte le canzoni del disco sono arrangiate dal maestro Giulio Libano, uno dei direttori d'orchestra che in quegli anni lavorava presso la Jolly come arrangiatore, noto anche come trombettista.
La copertina raffigura Celentano con un berretto e la chitarra a tracolla mentre balla.
Il disco racchiude alcuni brani già pubblicati su 45 giri nei due anni precedenti (come Il ribelle o Il tuo bacio è come un rock, peraltro gli unici due brani del disco firmati da Celentano), e gli unici due inediti, Personality e Il mondo gira, sono pubblicati su singolo contemporaneamente; in seguito Personality verrà anche incisa da Mina e Caterina Valente.
Un'altra canzone di questo disco, Teddy girl, viene riproposta pochi mesi dopo da I due corsari (alias Giorgio Gaber ed Enzo Jannacci).
Due brani del disco, Piccola e Ritorna lo shimmy, sono cantati in coppia con la cantante svizzera Anita Traversi.
Tra i testi sono da ricordare quelli di Blue jeans rock e Il ribelle, poiché vi fa capolino la ribellione degli adolescenti verso i genitori, e Nikita rock, la prima canzone di Celentano in cui fa capolino la politica.
L'album verrà ristampato dalla Jolly in svariate serie economiche, a volte con il titolo cambiato; una prima volta con etichetta Stella records, poi nella serie Niagara (venduto per corrispondenza), dalla Joker e in molte altre occasioni.
