Wizards of Ooze are hyper funky Belgian group, based in Antwerp. Began in the nineties called "Vibes Ahead Alliance" as imitator of "Jazz dance" genre (Gilles Peterson, Young Disciples, US3, Jamiroquay, Guru …). The core of the group are Wim Tops and Peter Revalk, who will also already played in small disco-funk bands, and adhere to experiments with house, techno and ragga muffin ventured. In 1992, a jazzy demo is well received by record companies Creastars who invest immediately decide what studio time at Tops and Revalk. Their debut EP "The Bone" which was first introduced in October 1992. These (mostly) instrumental track has since become a classic and became a club hit in the Benelux and England, and landed on numerous compilations, including "Totally Wired 10" by the London label Acid Jazz. Because of copyright reasons the group has 1993 name change. The group's core remains the same, but is now more extensive (for the live shows they were all the way with seven, called Vibes Ahead Allstars).
A year later she made her debut as the Wizards of Ooze with the album "The Dipster". The music shows a lot gevarieeerder than the genre, since there are clear soul, fusion and psychedelics can be heard, all laced with widely spread Moog and Hammond organs. Other features of the group are the high stemmtjes of the two men, the unpredictable tempo changes and the rather moronic lyrics, which she published as "A horse, a bucket and a spoon." "Trippin '" and "Fuzzball" become radio hits in 1994
