    In the early 2000s, Vijay Iyer and Craig Taborn are members of Note Factory, a pointed nonette led by Roscoe Mitchell. At the heart of the complex improvised music of the Art Ensemble of Chicago saxophonist, the tandem formed by the two pianists is a force in its own right. Aware of the potential, Iyer and Taborn continued the duo adventure. Recorded in public on March 12, 2018, at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, The Transitory Poems is not just a documentation of their abundant creativity. This concert is also a tribute to four artists recently missing. Four personalities related to the path of the two Americans: pianists Cecil Taylor, Muhal Richard Abrams, Geri Allen and the painter and sculptor Jack Whitten. For an hour and a quarter, Vijay Iyer and Craig Taborn exchange with exacerbated freedom. Not to put between all ears, their improvisations avant-gardists keep a lightness of all the moments. The density is there but never suffocating or exhausting. There is an unparalleled fluidity in this music of immediacy. In these sentences and exchanges that illuminate the sky and disappear a few seconds later, like a fireworks.
