VA - Swamp Pop - Sea Of Love - The Ultimate Collection 1955-1962 (2017)

The one thing most of these records have in common, and one which is hard to deny, is their debt to the sound of Fats Domino and his producer and co-writer Dave Bartholomew. 'swamp pop' as it went on to be affectionately known, was popular in Louisiana, Texas and the neighbouring states and for the brief period encompassed by this compilation became a pop phenomenon breaking out into the American pop and R&B charts.
