Again and again, the Wave Quartet succeeds in making the known sound completely new and interesting. For example, the ensemble was thrilled with the harpsichord concert of Johann Sebastian Bach in his own arrangement for the marimba ensemble and orchestra on his Sony Classical debut: "Musically, this new recording has a lot to offer (…), captivatingly enthralling, meditative , Zeitzeithaltend.The conciseness with which the Wave Quartet plays, is certainly one of the special qualities. " (Fono Forum) The second album of the Wave Quartet now focuses on perhaps the most popular female figure in opera history. It is the "Carmen" from Georges Bizet's world hit of the same name. Almost a century later, the Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin arranged the highlights from Bizet's opera into a "Carmen Suite" for string orchestra and percussion. This version has now arranged the Wave Quartet for four Marimbas. On these 25 minutes long opera earwigs, the ensemble follows edits of pop hits. The ensemble chose Ed Sheeran's "Perfect", Sting's "Message in a Bottle" and Suzanne Vegas "Gypsy". Suzanne Vegas song "Gypsy" refers to Gypsy Carmen, at least from the title. "Udacrep Akubrad", a piece by the Israeli composer Avner Dorman, in an arrangement for three marimbas and percussion concludes the album. This mix of opera, pop and a drums-classics arrangement reflects the musical self-image of the Wave Quartets, as Bogdan Bacanu emphasizes on behalf of his colleagues: "All people who like music are approached, our music is catching our ears! act in this sense 'barrier-free'. "
