Revolution Take 20 Sessions is a 2016 bootleg CD by British pop group The Beatles. It features a number of different versions of their recording of "Revolution" heard in different perspectives. This was released by BeatFile.
This set documents the Beatles in the studio on June 4 1968. It was one of the first sessions for the White Album and the Beatles were adding overdubs onto the basic track of Revolution (1). The session's result was Revolution Take 20 RM1, a mono mix combining elements of Revolution (1) and Revolution #9, which was eventually bootlegged in 2009 on HMC's "Revolution Take… Your Knickers Off!". The source of the session is a tape recorded by Yoko Ono, originally released on Vigotone's "From Kinfauns To Chaos" Disc 2.

The dropouts in the intro of Revolution Take 20 RM1 have always bugged me, so I restored these using the Yoko tape. First, both sources were repitched to "Revolution (1)" record speed. I then applied differential equalization (sourced from the first 20 seconds of music respectively) to the Yoko version and mixed the intro with the "Take Your Knickers Off" version.

Then I figured as I've already calculated the correct pitch for one track, and have the equalizer, I could just as well update the whole set. I ran a batch operation with audacity and the results are indeed nicer to listen to. No noise reduction or spectral band replication was applied to the session. The intro for the complete track received slight noise reduction to blend in better with the high quality mix.

Also, while doing that I noticed that (at least) the Revolution disk of the Secret Garden "White Album Sessions" set is sourced from a lossy copy! The version on the Purple Chick "White Album Deluxe" set does not show these artifacts and seems to be a straight reproduction of the "From Kinfauns to Chaos" release. My version is therefore based on the Purple Chick version, which has better track separation than "From Kinfauns to Chaos".
