Any Road Up and here's where the story really begins,having been too late to catch the group The Uglys my first encounter with Steve Gibbons and his band was at a club called Incognito in Hurst Street, Birmingham by the Hippodrome theatre in the mid 1970's.I would think that the very fine Dave Carroll and Bob Wilson where on guitars at that time.In the set Steve Gibbons ( looking like the coolest frontman on the planet ) sang one of his own marvellous compositions called ' Alright Now 'and I was hooked.Together with the fact that I don't think I have ever heard anyone do a better Chuck Berry cover than this man.There are some curious comments in the excellent booklet which comes with this dvd by the Rockpalast link man who remarks that the guys looked a bit ' hard worked and weary ' which comes as no surprise as they had just spent the last six weeks playing and zig zagging across Europe.They are a true workmanlike band which comes across in songs like ' Git it ' and ' He Gave his Life For Rock n Roll '. Anyway its about time too that one concert at least has been put out on dvd to remind us all what a fine showman, lyricist and underrated songwriter Steve Gibbons is.Whenever I saw them live be it at the Barrel Organ pub in Digbeth or Birmingham Town Hall they never did disappoint or for my money get the nationwide recognition they deserved.Speaking as someone down in the bunker, if anyone deserves a star on Broad Street its Harbornite,Steve Gibbons.Well done to you sir on a great dvd and by the way just one question, does anyone know…' Where can I get me a cadillac car ? '.

"Paralyzed" by Elvis, "Get It" by Gene Vincent, "Bye Bye Johnny" by Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan: "To Be Along With You" and "Like A Rolling Stone", абсолютно популярное и избранное Стивом из "ZIM". Отличная концовка отличного концерта.
