Derived from a Japanese laser disc called The Hit Collection, this 18-song compilation offers TV performances by the Kinks, Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick, the early Moody Blues, and Cilla Black. Oddly enough, among the few genuinely live clips here are the Searchers, doing "Don't Throw Your Love Away," and Gerry & the Pacemakers doing "I'm the One," and they're each ten times more interesting there than most of the rest of this material, which has resurfaced over the decades in various venues. The presence of an annoying information crawl at the bottom of the screen also doesn't endear this release to current viewers, though some of the images are so strange as to easily overcome that problem – Peter & Gordon miming "A World Without Love" amid an array of provocatively posed and costumed mannequins being the oddest of all, and they're not half as provocative as Dusty Springfield singing "I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself".
